Speaking of headliners and supports I'm disappointed that Jason Isbell is supporting Paul Kelly, honestly, it should be the other way around.
The Isbell/Kelly thing just seems so random right?

Dallas seems like the sort of guy who would be a great person to talk too...he gives up a fair bit on stage and really is a great artist.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Just realised that the MJ Lenderman show is the same night as the Collingwood game at the G. Bit of a bummer, maybe I can do a half then head to the Forum.

I spent like a drunken sailor over December and January, so a late showing on my behalf wasn't achievable even though a couple of mates and I seriously considered it. Blame Aza, he told me about the Air show at the Bowl that drained my concert funds (buying a few tickets for others to demonstrate the awesome and for birthdays didn't help, but blame Aza anyway)......

        Glad you enjoyed it mate.

I’ve seen them 4 times and to be honest, I was a bit sceptical about the Bowl as a venue for them. Ended up being away anyway , but reports seem to be pretty positive, which is good to hear.

So you're saying it was Aza's fault you went away?

The Bowl is weather/ wind dependent, though if there's a decent enough touring rig supporting the show then it's usually fine.

For woofers who like R&B soul music, US band Durand Jones & The Indications are playing at the Forum on 8th March.

I’ve only just cottoned on to them after hearing one of their songs being played in the Yarraville Club (so yeah, there’s a tenuous western suburbs/doggies link!). Thanks Shazam.

And also indie pop music US band Ginger Root (Cameron Lew & two of his ex high school buddies) are performing at Northcote Social Club on 24th March. Cameron describes his music as “aggressive elevator soul”. I’d describe him as a musically talented super daggy dude. His YouTube clips are a lot of fun eg toaster music (he played & videoed himself playing covers in back of his station wagon whilst at uni), then later as Ginger Root (my fave tunes; Weather, Ohio, Mahjong Room, Le Chateau, Loretta).
                Josie :)

                Our day will come

Yeah, I can't understand the whole Isbell/Kelly pairing, must be some record label thing?

Dallas was very laid back and reserved kinda guy, in the five minutes I spoke to him for!!

I see that Nathaniel Rateliff is headlining and american tour with Iron & Wine supporting.

Went and watched this on the weekend. For Zeppelin fans this is a must. 2 hour documentary about how the band started and their first two years touring and creating the first two albums.

For those younger posters, Zeppelin considered themselves as an Album band and didn't release singles. In those early years, they were never played on am radio only on the underground FM band - and the FM stations would play a whole side of the album right through.
Their concerts and album sales were all word and mouth and they became the biggest band in history (for the times), yet unless you went to a concert, no one knew what they looked like.

Did Peter Grant feature a lot in the doco? He was a powerful presence and a no nonsense manager.
Did you get to see them at Kooyong in '73 BAD?

                            - 1972

Peter didn't appear a lot, but bobbed up every now and again, Remember Peter died in 1995 so they couldn't interview him.

I was a bit young in 1972 but really regret not being able to go.
