Successful run. Got in and done in 10 minutes. I was lucky to have a pretty smooth transaction. Melbourne and Sydney both have 2nd shows so most should be able to go if they really want to.

Yep picked up tickets to one of the Sydney shows. Great to hear Pixies are on the bill as well.

Went to see QOTSA last night. Fantastic show. Never a huge fan except for Songs for the Deaf but geez they are good live.

I'm in for Pearl Jam on the Goldie. Not what I'd call a convenient location but have a bunch of mates going so might get a limo down from Brisbane which will be easier than stuffing around on trains.

Who is the band on this tour? Lanegan did a lot of stuff from the album you quoted and (for obvious reasons) he isn't there...

Just got home from Blink 182.

Got a call to see if I could take my nephews after their original plans were scuttled. 2 minutes later I was in a car to pick them up and driving straight into Rod Laver for the gig.

            Boys loved it.

They were good fun, Blink 182. I liked them early on as a skater punk, ska, oi sort of kid but didn’t really stick with them, went down the rabbit hole in a different lane. Was surprised to see the fanatical response they got. They played a pretty good set.

Enjoy. I saw them last week at the Enmore on Sydney and it was awesome but really not as loud as I was expecting. Anyway, no harm in being prepared.

I saw them whenever they were here last and they messed me up pretty good.

I've seen them once before and I think it was either in Berlin or maybe in Leeds? I wasn't in Australia I know that much...they were the loudest band I had ever heard.

If they've toned it down a bit I for one would be most appreciative.

Take plugs anyway, this is just one man's opinion.

Probably depends how close you want to get to the stage.

I've had tinnitus ever since a Living End concert at the Palais in 2005 when I stood next to the speaker stack.

All the guitar I play probably contributed however that one I think tipped it over the edge.

I have had it since Billy Thorpe played at our school social in the small Gym we had. Man he was loud.

J's repartee was in full voice. At one point I think he mentioned someone was playing keys on a track...incredible banter with the crowd.

Show was 'good'...they played well but didn't seem super passionate about it. I don't know - I remember them being pretty much 'full bore' when I saw them and they largely seemed to be presenting the songs to the crowd. Probs harsh I guess. I found the constant "I'll play the Jag...no, I'll play the tele...just hang on whilst I retune this on stage" a bit tiresome as well.

Do I sound like an old man yet?

It was fine. The venue (Astor) was fine but (and only Perth people will get this) Mt Lawley remains a complete parking shit show. Anyway, next for me is 'The Damned' so let's see what Captain Sensible brings in 2024!
