I don't know - I remember them being pretty much 'full bore' when I saw them and they largely seemed to be presenting the songs to the crowd. Probs harsh I guess. I found the constant "I'll play the Jag...no, I'll play the tele...just hang on whilst I retune this on stage" a bit tiresome as well.

Do I sound like an old man yet?

It was fine. The venue (Astor) was fine but (and only Perth people will get this) Mt Lawley remains a complete parking shit show. Anyway, next for me is 'The Damned' so let's see what Captain Sensible brings in 2024!

Looking forward to seeing the Damned?Dave, Rat and the Captain together again. They are old but they are not Rolling Stones old?so hold off on the Zimmer frame for the moment.

Teenage Fanclub first though. Looking forward to listening to the greatest guitar jangly band of all time (not even sure what genre they fit in these days ?maybe old men who play music like The Byrds or Big Star genre)

I understand. Gerard is sorely missed but Raymond and Norman still make beautiful music. Plus they have the wonderful Euros Childs in the band these days. It will be a listening pleasure.

I’ll always love them, although they’ve definitely tipped a little too much into the Byrds end of things these days. A bit too nice. Saw them last time out but missed out this time.

If they've toned it down a bit I for one would be most appreciative.

First time I saw the Rollins Band was at the Old Greek Theatre in Richmond. The floor was shaking, bits of the plaster fell off the walls and I couldn't hear a thing for 3 days. It was ****ing brilliant I was ecstatic for a fortnight afterwards.

I?m not denigrating him at all. He?s obviously a legend. And also nearly 70 years old.

That's alright, I was just talking the piss.

I don't think Zimmer frames are really a thing anymore anyway. These days old folk are getting around with those fold up pushers with the seat on the front that collapse and fit in the boot of the car.

True, but the term zimmer frame felt funnier than walker, or whatever those things are called.

To be fair I kinda want one of these for myself, that's a ridiculous level of practicality and you never have to stand around.

My mum's got one and I've taken it for a spin a couple of times. Disappointingly it's not easy to sit in and ride at the same time but I'm guessing that's a safety feature for old folk and it's not really set up for their kids and grandkids to hoon around in.

Zimmer frame is a very funny word. Not as funny as brassicas though.
