My son?s band doing a few gigs around Oz, also got one coming up in Tassie .
Did an interview with an American podcaster about touring the states next year.
Sparta tonight at the Croxton. Playing "Wiretap Scars" in full for its 20 year release. I love Sparta, probably my second favourite band of all time and Jim Ward is one of the only "famous people" I'd fangirl over.
Doing all 3 Hold Steady shows this weekend.
Might be a Danny Glover, too old for this shit situation, but we'll give it a go.
Sooooo Jealous. Rock'n'Roll Church!
I have been sorta busy:
Saw the Clouds at the Rosemount a couple of weeks back. Timed it perfectly...as I finished my steak and walked into the band room, the band walked out and said 'Hello...we're old ladies now so we like to start on time and finish EARLY...let's go'.
Went and saw Mark Seymour Saturday at the Charles. Prob's not exactly my taste in 2024 but certainly a 'professional rock show' - good songs well played.
Heading to Freo Social tonight to see Samantha Fish and Jessie Dayton. Ear plugs are at the ready...gonna be LOUD!

Yep, evangelical rock services.
Love The Clouds. Saw them on the go round a couple of years ago, but not this one.
A mate offered me a ticket to see The Stems in August, so planning on going to that one.

Drop that phone

I'm gonna send you videos from the Tea Party and make you regret that decision.
The music is good enough to swallow how much of a douchebag Jeff Martin is.
Never been a Tea Party fan. Not my bag.
Ride should be fun.
Would love to go to some of RVG, Deerhoof, J&MC or Bob Mould, but gonna see how the purse strings look after this weekend…
Also just saw the Hoodoos are doing a Stoneage Romeos 40 year celebration show. That’d be fun.

Going with the missus to that one.
Speaking of Hoodoos - I found (well, I must have known I had it but forgot) a double Scientists LP in my collection last weekend called 'A Place called Bad'...it's pretty amazing and when I searched in online to find out what I had it's actually available for $42 NEW for the vinyl double album. If you like the Hoodoos and the pre-Hoodoos Faulkner stuff:
With a sound that was swampy, primal and modern-urban all at once—as much in the tradition of rock n’ roll and punk rock as it was a rejection of those things, the Scientists’ formula was as universal as it was specific to their own experience. The themes of getting wasted, driving around in hotted-up cars, being trapp

Love the Bob Mould guitar stuff but that catalog is gonna pretty pretty diverse...what's he actually PLAYING on this tour? Sugar stuff, solo stuff, Husker stuff...purse string decisions!!
