Re: What are you watching at the moment
Yeah been watching on iview. Rationing ourselves to one episode a week.
The acting, writing and camera work is just so good. And believable.
I wonder if they will commission a third series.Comment

Re: What are you watching at the moment
I just discovered a lovely Elliott Smith documentary called Heaven Adores You.
I'd not heard of it before, but was super impressed that they really made a decision to focus on his life as it pertained to his musical growth.
It treated his death respectfully and not as a salacious tabloid event.
I truly think Smith is one of the most talented songwriter and multi instrumentalist of all time.
If you enjoy his music, I highly recommend it
It's on Amazon Prime.Comment

Re: What are you watching at the moment
Some serious nostalgic feels experienced when watching the Bekham series on Netflix.
The parallels between his treatment and the treatment of the Australian cricket team are difficult to ignore. When the British public is feeling at its pathetic worst they can turn really nasty.
Agree with the nostagia, in particular as I'm the same age as him. Great insight reliving some of the big moments in his career and also highlights that from Australia we didn't really know what was happening in the 1990s and 00s like we do know due to not having social media. For instance I knew there was a severe backlash when he was red carded against Argentina in the World Cup, but I did understand the extent of the hatred, abuse and how long it went on for.
p.s. love seeing some of those football kits from the 1990s like the Umbro Man U kit for example, iconic
p.s.s. Obviously Ferguson was super successful and the doco highlights some of the reasons why, but gee whiz he could be a real prick at timesComment

Re: What are you watching at the moment
His decision to go cold turkey off of his anti-psychotic meds with no medical supervision was a dangerous move on his behalf I suspect, that contributed to his violent and very statistically unusual mode of suicide.
I just like to celebrate his wonderful contribution to music - such an amazing guitarist with unique phrasings, a very underrated piano player, a competent drummer too. His voice was not amazing, very fragile but totally suited his music. And his ability to tell a compelling story and paint a word picture was of the highest order.Comment
