We finished watching all 4 seasons of Barry a few days ago. Black comedy drama. Took a few episodes for us to feel comfortable but it was worry persevering with. No Ho Hank a fave character. Actor who plays Hank has alopicia so typecast in bad guy roles but this is a seriously likeable, funny bad guy role. Bill Hader who plays Barry is a talented guy; created series, co-wrote episodes and directed all of final season 4.

A lot of Barry fans around here. I watched it last year and am ready to go around again. Hank is an amazing character. How everyone spirals and how detestable they all were whilst still being somewhat likeable was a stroke of writing genius.

The tone shift that starts in S3 and carries through S4 possibly lost a few fans from the almost slapstick elements of the first few seasons, but it’s a truly remarkable show. And yeah, Hank is a ****ing amazing character, beautifully acted and his arc is tremendous.

Started watching season 12 of - Curb your Enthusiasm Whilst there are some funny bits and the usual Larry David comedy, the thing that I have never liked is the yelling, which there seemed to be a lot of in episode 1

I watched it as well and like most of the series the first one normally just sets up the balance of the series. It's early days.

True Detective S4 is very different from the others (they're all different, I guess), but I'm enjoying it a lot. Jodie Foster's character is reprehensible.

Blue Swallows Universe was a decent watch if for nothing other than the excellent portrayal of the period it was set within. But overall there was something missing from it when they jumped ahead in time. Easy to say that was because Felix Cameron wasn't old enough to play his older protagonist, but I reckon it was more than that.

Can you explain to me what is actually going on?

More fool me as I have now watched 4-episodes of a show which leaves me with a lower level of comprehension every single week.

Don't know where it is heading Jee? Supernatural? nah, that is not True Detective.

Will be an interesting finish eventually

And DARK.

And now apparently in the place where the sun seemingly never shines there is a place called 'The Night Country'. I actually laughed when the seemingly mentally unwell scientist said that and I'm pretty sure that was not supposed to be my reaction.

Then the Navarro character is on some other 'level' in the abandoned whatever it is supposed to be (I swear they called it a dredge!) staring at a Christmas Tree...but I mean, of course you would immediately separate from your partner who isn't your partner in a creepy dark abandoned structure in the middle of the night when people keep showing up dead...and with evidence they have died both painfully and violently.

I'm giving it one more episode to start with some kind of coherent story or done 'cos all the stuff around the story seems to be a group of insane people running around in the cold and dark with very little direction.

without giving much away - what happened to the Frozen People with scared look on their faces, Navarro seeing things. they are making out something is out there.

That's my point. Navarro is seeing things and has a brain tumour.

I've made that up of course. But there's nothing supernatural it's just in her head.

I like my insane people to be more structured as well.
