The vibe feels a bit similar from the trailer, kind of dark/mature without being over the top like The Boys as you say. Though Heroes main villain did go around cutting open other heroes heads to eat the part of the brain that gives them powers so that he could get their powers (which makes absolutely no sense now that I think about it for 5 seconds) which is pretty gory but was 100% offscreened.
Well you seem to have it all figured out mate. No need to watch I guess.
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I’ve got the box set and was thinking about re-watching it as it’s brilliant (ex last season) and it was said it would never get to streaming owing to commercial shit fighting. But SBS dropped the first four seasons with the last three season in the next two weeks.

If you’re like me and love The Wire, watch for all The Wire actors throughout the seasons here.
Good call BT. We watched first season & possibly a bit of 2nd season yonks ago on YouTube - poor quality picture copy (as you say couldn’t watch it elsewhere then). Couldn’t find other seasons or even all the episodes in a form that was watchable. Recent remastering has made picture reasonably watchable. The dialogue is so whip smart, like watching something written by Raymond Chandler except decades later. Nice to watch a show where most of cast look like average folks who aren’t all plasticky good looking in that peculiar American way that challenges belief in the story. Although there is a Baldwin bro in cast. You can see The Wire’s genesis for sure. Now rewatching season 1 and will likely watch the rest of it.

Nice to see Wendy Hughes acting and it’s sad we lost such a talent at 61 yo. Just read chap that played Pemberton died only a year or two ago, likely from smoking for decades before he gave up, too late though.

I can remember this being on TV in the 90s.

Was one of the first US shows I really got into. Was just different to the rest of the garbage on offer.

I know. The Wire is the best tv show ever made. Like ever made. Like ever.

I know I’m very late to the party but I just finished Ted Lasso. Overall great (obviously) but wow the drop off in quality from S2 to S3 was something else.

I got massive Bevo and bulldogs vibes all the way through. It peaked when Ted said he was a fan of communism (rom-communism) and all I could think about was Bevo’s weird Che Guevara speech. But there were little echoes all the way through.

it’s got me quite excited for the AFL season.

It is a great show. I watched it when it first came out and must give that first season another watch at some point.

I am also a little late with this one. I started watching Severance and so far have watched the first 6 episodes. It has slowly grown on me, but I wouldn't say it is one of my top shows I have seen.

Just finished it. We aslo enjoyed it. It gets a little slow and repetitive in the middle at times, but highly reccomended.

Season 1 of Ted Lasso was so uplifting that for a brief period of time you forgot about the cynicism of life for a while.

Season 2 and 3 reminded you that it's never about humanity and is only about making money and flogging the horse until it can't cough up any more money.
