Thomas Perry is a pretty fun author...it's like a level up from Pulp...great stories.

His character Jane Whitfield out of books like 'The Runner' - a character who takes people being chased by criminal organisations and 'hides them'/'creates them new identities/lives etc' is literally begging to be the subject of a netflix series...or an Apple series as it might be.

Books of his I would recommend:

    The Old Man #1
    Hero #2
    A String of Beads #3
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

      Agree.

      On Apple TV +
I have been watching slow Horses S4 - really enjoying it

Presumed Innocent was also a very good series with a twist at the end

      On All4

      Great British Bakeoff
      Grand Designs 2024 series

      on BBC Player

2024 season of Fake or Fortune

Tried watching JOAN on ITVX (or Stan if you have it, I don't ) and gave up.

Re: What are you watching at the moment

For some reason I'm watching Loudermilk. First season was OK, a few good moments every couple of episodes. Second season started so poorly, it felt like I was watching a show stoned without the buzz or any need to laugh, just confusion as to why they were on TV.

Got through Rings of Power's s2 and quite liked it. It doesn't justify the expense and I wouldn't be surprised if it's cancelled.

Bad Monkey was OK, as was Kaos.

Still interested in Slow Horses, hopefully they don't **** this show up.
        TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I’m 9 episodes into Bad Sisters. This prick needs to die already, every time he’s on screen I’m at risk of breaking my TV.

The Sean Duffy character written by Adrian McKinty is also screaming out for a mini series to be made.

Duffy is a police detective, and it is set in Northern Ireland in the early 1980's

Highly recommend all of the books in the series so far, at last count there are seven.

I have two episodes to go and honestly the show somehow gets better and better with each season... which I did not think was possible.

Re: What are you watching at the moment

Slow Horses is so bloody good. It is up there with The Wire and Luther (not the movie) for quality and longevity

Each season gets better and better.

The English are masters of the six-part mini-series.

This thread is littered with random post on how highly I rate The Wire. I have rewatched it many times.

Finally finished KATLA after 6-12 months of perseverance.

I think the reason, firstly, that it got 100% on Rotten Tomatoes is because of GDRN playing Grima. Wowsers. Outside of that, it was extremely well scripted, acted and staged.

First five or so episodes were a massive grind, but the payoff was next level good.

People compare it to Dark, like people compared Dark to Stranger Things. Miles off in each instance. All good shows on their merits.

Finished Slow Horses - show is consistently very good. Thought S4 spent a bit too much time pissing about in ep 2-3, but still very entertaining.
Am now up to date with From - every time I think it’s disappearing up it’s own arse, it does something that pulls me back in. End of episode 3 of the new season was an awesome turn.
Highly recommend Stax - Soulsville USA on Binge. If you have even a vague love of 60’s Soul / R & B or music history, it’s an excellent watch.
Also highly recommend the English Teacher on Disney Plus. Some very un-Disney concepts at times, but very funny.
