Re: What are you watching at the moment

I just wrapped up watching Chimp Crazy, I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would choose to raise a wild animal that could potentially attack them at any moment.
Calling them imbeciles is being nice to most of the people in the show.

Only a 3 part Doco but the Trainwreck - Woodstock '99 film on Netflix, had heard that it was chaotic but watching it, the actual footage and the total disorganization to only care about $$$, organizers wiping their hands of that and blaming the bands etc is just crazy, they wanted free love and happiness etc that 1969 brought, but then hire bands like Limp Bizkit basically telling the crowd to break shit putting them into a frenzy, Dexter from Offspring putting a baseball bat to the Backstreet Boys cut out heads on stage, Rage Against The Machine, Korn etc and expecting them to be like Fleetwood Mac or The Eagles? Then have it on an old Hanger all concrete, hardly any water in the blistering heat, nothing wrong with those bands btw, but for a hippy like free lovin' style concert? Hmmmm!

Enjoying series one of the Australian show Black Snow, not overly fast paced however excellent acting and great story line.

Doesn't deserve its own thread, but just watched the Tyson vs. Paul bout.

The former looked solid above the waist but his footwork and drive from the legs were gone, sadly (but still in great condition for his age). Went 8 x 2m rounds......not a lot of really good shots either side. Paul has a long way to go if he thinks he's going to be a genuine heavyweight contender.
            TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

One of the all time greatest cons. For a second I thought it might be a real fight before it started, or at least hoped. I don’t see Paul being a legit contender. But he’ll be dirt rich if he puts a few more of these staged events on.

Let us not forget this is a 58 year old man. Basically the plot of Rocky Balboa if Rocky fought some influencer best known for showing someone dead in Japan instead of the champion and with a more realistic result

Yeah I thought about how it's a Rocky film that wasn't going to end the right way.

Well, if Paul had have gone in close on the attack a few more times he might have caught a really heavy one from Tyson and it might've put his lights out.

Let's just say there may have been a 'gentleman's' agreement that Paul wouldn't swing too often and too hard, and at the same time wouldn't get too close so as to tempt Tyson.

For sure. It was virtually scripted. I thought numerous times Paul gestured to Tyson to raise his hands up to block the times he did swing. I know everyone involved got insane money from it, but it was a sad joke. Like WWE but with the promise it was real. When the only real thing was the cameraman filming Tyson arse pre-pretend fight.

The landed punches were real. Both got a bit rattled at times. Tyson has always been a front on hunter, so staying back without the forward momentum of the hunt just made it sad.

Re: What are you watching at the moment

The Taylor v Serrano and Barrios v Ramos fights totally made up for the sad main event.

Barrios looked like he was totally dominating the early rounds, and just looked too big for Ramos. And then it turned, and Ramos all of a sudden looked like he was throwing bricks. In the end the draw was probably right, but I almost thought Ramos had done enough.

As for the Taylor v Serrano fight, wow those women put on an epic. A shame about the headbutt opening up Serrano's eye... I didn't think it was deliberate though ,and actually thought the 1 point deduction was unfair. I tend to agree with Roy Jones Jr assessment that this is quite common when you get southpaw v Righty, and you have to both be on the look out for it.

I think Serrano was absolutely robbed though. How that was a unanimous decision to Taylor looking at the stats. Serrano had Taylor on every metric, despite having to deal with the cut above her eye flapping around with blood in her eye.

Jake Paul is delusional if he thinks he's a professional boxer though, and he'd be dealt with harshly by any ranked professional of similar weight. Heck, although he must've laughed at Paul's taunt, smaller Canelo Alvarez would blow Paul away.

Loudermilk on Netflix well worth a look. 3 seasons so far centring around a sobriety counsellor who literally has no filter and enjoys swearing and abusing almost everyone he comes across, quite amusing without being side splittingly funny.

You know there's some posters around here (Aza) who would be really upset that you missed a post on this only a page ago. But most of us are cool.

Almost the craziest thing is that, despite the utter cluster**** the whole thing was, they were just a few hours away from getting away with it all.

Hyping a special surprise at the end (which everyone took to mean an epic guest band) and then the anticlimax of "oh, the surprise is candles" was just the extra slap in the face the people there just couldn't take
