I have been watching:

* Silent Witness season 24 on BBC Iplayer

* Bake Off new season - All4

* Finished Des - also on ABC

I have continued to watch Ted Lasso. Just finished season 2 - 9, weird episode concentrating on the coach.

Episode 9 of Ted Lasso went way off campus. Haven’t watched ep 10 yet.

I enjoyed, well as much as you can, Squid Game but my default is always to have the audio to the country of origin, in this case Korean.

I’m halfway into The Chestnut Man, and looking forward to watching the remaining 3 episodes.

Agree totally with your summation. I think the last 2-3 seasons did not need to happen. As other posters alluded to they brought in Hollywood directors to finish it off, and they literally finished it off.

I am so glad I didn't spend a few hundred bucks on the box set as I would have felt ripped off.

The show reminded me of a DJ set that starts out pretty well, and feels like it could go somewhere. And then bit by bit, the set becomes more commercial and by the end of it it's a cheese fest and the dance floor is full of jacked up *!*!*!*!wits with their shirts off and the stench of fake tan is far too prominent.

Except that's not really how it went down innit?

The writers thought they were bigger than the show and could do what they wanted, when in actual fact they were uninspired bottom feeders that had no answers once the source material dried up.

They told HBO (who wanted to make each season 10 episodes long) they could wrap it up in 8 and 6 episodes or whatever the shit they ended up being. They wanted to wrap it up quickly so they could rush off to write the new Star Wars (which they'd been signed up to do because GOT was a revelation and it was entirely because of them).

So they trashed the franchise because they wanted their cake and to eat it too.

The best part of the whole story? They got sacked from Star Wars because turns out without good source material, they're actually a joke.

Anyway, stop bringing GOT up because it triggers me senseless. And yes, I know this will lead to the obligatory BAD comment that "I liked it" so I'll just pre-empt him and say, "You're wrong and I bid you good day sir".

Manhunt is pretty good. When I saw that Martin Clunes was in it I thought "yeah I dunno about that" but the remote was on the couch on the other side of the lounge so I ended up watching and I'm glad I did.
