Re: What are you watching at the moment

i have been watching the two part doco on Tiger Woods. Quite fascinating as it gets very personal. I am only half way through the 2nd episode (they are long ). The media initially loved him then turned on him when he was having extra marital affairs.

The media hate (and dearly love) a false profit.............they don't stop to think about what they do to these people though.
      TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I was considering watching but it sort of sounds like a Woman's Day article about his affairs, etc. Does it actually cover his career in any detail?

It aired years ago but I just got around to watching True Detective S2.

It was panned by the critics at the time as it was deemed a complete let down due to being nothing like the first season (which I absolutely loved).

Gotta say, I really enjoyed it but given I love gritty crime stories and small town conspiracy drama, this was right down my alley. Colin Farrel was pitch perfect as the crooked burn out cop and Vince Vaughn as the gangster trying to go legit was one of his best performances.

It actually covers his life from when he was a couple of years old. I agree the affairs part was a bit Woman's Weekly and I didn't enjoy it, but it was amazing to see the press turn on him and really it was his own business. Shows him winning most of the majors and some of the drama like his knee issues. His caddy also talks alot about what he was going through before a lot of the tournaments.

I am half way through part two which is covering 2011.

Will it go all the way up to his comeback Masters win?

Burning through How To with John Wilson. The style of humour (?) probably isn’t for everyone but is definitely for me, and it manages to make the pretty mundane really charming.

Season 2 > season 3, it just got the Moonlight rub before Ali ruined everything with Green Book.

Re: What are you watching at the moment

Just finished watching The Plot Against America, an alternate history where Charles Lindbergh defeats Roosevelt in the presidential election during the early days of WWII. Told from the point of view of a Jewish family from New Jersey. Based on the 2004 novel by Philip Roth.

There are some striking similarities to the current/recent climate in the US, although some of this was deliberate as apparently the series departs from the book in certain areas.

Is it a movie or series?

Watching Preacher, which is quite fun and not fun at the same time. Quite interesting as a concept, but there's some disturbing stuff in there.
