Really narrow view to describe The Beatles as LSD music to each their own, but it's just incorrect to classify them as psychedelic or hippies.
Labels like that, or that they were a pop band just don't begin to cover the broader diaspora of their music.

How good is Mr Inbetween? Ray has to be one of the best Australian TV characters ever created.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Meh. I'm going to end up owning it on DVD anyway.. It took 50 years for the Get Back sessions to be fully brought to light.. I can wait a few more months!

Loved it. totally agree, it's an amazing character, and no one else could've played it other than Scott Ryan.

I watched an hour or so of the first episode last night. I’m sure it builds over the course of the ep and series, but there was a strong feeling that watching almost anyone sit around and work through half written songs is pretty dull even if it’s the biggest band of all time. There’s certainly some moments but maybe I spent too much time in my late teens / early twenties around groups of dudes jamming to see too much magic in the initial scenes.

On another note, I watched half of the film Bohemian Rhapsody last night and jeez, removing any feelings about Queen, that is one of the worst written hodge podge of lazy stereotypes and expositional bullshit dialogue I’ve ever seen. Some of the worst film making I’ve come across. Musical biopics are constantly the most disappointing type of movie.

Bohemian Rhapsody was trash. Rocket Man is a far superior musical biopic and got none of the hype BR received.

                      Haha love it.

I love the music it just didn't talk to me as an angsty teen.

Plus I think my mum played it to death.

As a guitarist, songs like Norwegian wood blow my mind so much talent *reads catcher in the rye*

                      Paperback writer is my fav.

Edit : had never seen the video for this brilliant.

                      Sorry if off thread guys.

Many many years ago my GF at the time and Bill Walsh's GF were besties. It meant that Bill and I spent a lot of time hanging around together, killing time and waiting for them. Anyway one day while Psychos were doing a sound check at the Prince of Wales there was a young guy hanging around watching and he looked kind of familiar so I asked who he was. One of the band members said he was "in that band with that song and sang a bit of Smells Like Teen Spirit. "Oh yeah, I know the one you mean" I said "what's he like, I might say hello" and he said "I wouldn't bother. He's a bit of a misery guts"
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

It's trash and apparently miles away from any semblance of how things actually were, something that was carefully curated and sanctioned by Queen themselves who are ever the opportunists when it comes to a buck.
                          TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Nirvana only toured Australia once, in 1992 straight after going number 1 in the states and here. Amazing Kurt was able to hang around anywhere unnoticed at that time as they were huge.

The only other people there were the band, the sound desk guy, a couple of roadies and some bar staff setting up. He couldn't have found a better spot to hang around and not be pestered. The year sounds right.
