I'm guessing here but 310. 280 is a big score batting last

Renshaw put down 3 chances, I wonder if the tour has now worn him down. I guess his batting this inning might answer that for us.

Warner gone for 6 runs. Has had another shocker overseas. (except last innings)

        Re: 2017 Tour of India

Hate to say it given he has single handedly kept australia in the series where other batsmen have been found wanting; but Steve Smith just threw away our chances in this match through impetuosity. The circumstances needed him to bat for a long time.
Renshaw, looking really tired, follows next over.
3 wickets for -1. I can't see a way out of this for Australia.
Again hard to be critical given the series he had, but Smith is the only Aussie batsmen who has any sustained form over here and he threw it away with poor shot selection rather than any great bowling.

I guess you can't blame the Marsh brothers for accepting selection that leads to a series loss. Especially for not playing Maxwell in the second test to draw/win the series.

Lets hope that puts paid to any further consideration the selectors may have in considering Shaun Marsh.

A really disappointing end to an enthralling tour. I really don't understand anything about the way we approached our final innings as a team.
                    Absolutely no fortitude or fight.
We are so brittle and 'untest match' like in our batting approach. Day 3 of a final test to win a test series and no one has stood up to play an innings worthy of a test with so much at stake.

I feel sorry for the likes of Smith and our bowlers.

Warner, Marsh and Handscomb just didn't do enough with the bat in 4 tests.

Who knows if we were to get a lead of 150 plus but at the moment we haven't rallied like we should have.

That's the reality. I'd argue Lyon has outbowled Ashwin and our quicks have done more than theirs. The problem is the batting. Smith being outstanding and a fighting partnership from Handscomb/Marsh has papered over some cracks.

S Marsh should have his papers stamped, Wade potentially too. Handscomb keeps his spot based on his home summer and you have to question whether Warner deserves the Khawaja treatment in the subcontinent. Despite this test, I still think Renshaw comes away with an enhanced reputation. He's made Warner look the 20 year old

What a pathetic second innings (once more), we really had a good chance to win this series but fluffed it.

Warner is the greatest flat track bully in world sport.
6 off 5 balls in the second innings of the deciding test - really summed up his series.

Very disappointing finish to what was a cracking series. We had the foot on their throats after day 2 of the 2nd test but we gave a sucker an even break.

Considering we won 3 tosses, got 500 runs out of Smith and they got nothing out of Kohli, and our bowlers all had moments of brilliance (though frustratingly rarely together), it is ultimately a poor series loss where the blame lies squarely on our batsmen (and selectors). KL Rahul v Warner at the top of the order was ultimately the most glaring difference between the teams.
