Bit of a nothing dismissal by Warner there - did all the hard work against the spinners and ends up playing on against the paceman.

Super captaincy by Kohli there - moved in a leg slip and 2 balls later Marsh tickles one there

Renshaw is a very calculated batsman. He genuinely doesn't let being beaten affect him but when the pressure builds he'll skip down and play a big drive to remind the bowler he's around.

He really gets motoring the longer he's out there.

Just checked the score card. Huge effort by the Marshs to muster 20 runs between them both... Selectors must be so proud.

F*cking disgraceful call by the selectors. M Marsh has got to go. My expectation is that he will now bowl 6 overs for the match and completely not justify his match fee

When good form is overlooked it generally doesn't work out well.
Dropping Mitch Marsh for a test and bringing him back without some runs was always a questionable decision.

He will need to bowl well and make a few runs in his 2nd batting effort.

                  Would Maxwell be any better?

7 for 199. We needed more from a few of them today and a good start has once again been wasted.

Good call, at least we can say the selectors made the right call to keep him in the 11.

He's a great foil to Warner.

Why now play all three? Drop one of the openers, I don't think we've tried Glen Maxwell as a test opener yet have we? Maybe he's a test opener?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I wouldn't have had a problem with Mitch Marsh beng selected if there were 3 spinners picked and Hazlewood was sacrificed due to the pitch. But his bowling as 3rd seamer will be a minimal factor on this pitch, and his batting prowess is there for all to see.

First time I've seen a player literally shit himself on a cricket pitch. I've seen Michael Bevan batting against the West Indies type.

That would have been a reasonable option but could he handle a full bowlers workload?

Would you have picked Agar or Swepson as the 3rd spin bowler?

Seamers generally don't bowl more than 10 overs in a day so I reckon the workload would not have been an issue.

I'd have probably gone with Agar as the 3rd spinner - his bounce on this surface would be more effective than the leggie IMO.

But.....we went with Mitchell F*cking Marsh.......a turd is still a turd no matter how much you polish it. Marsh is a shiny turd
