The raw numbers are damning but there were a few unplayable shooters in that collapse. India bowled exceptionally well from about 10 overs in to give them their due. India have had a few collapses already this series, and arguably our late innings collapse in the first innings was worse considering the circumstances at the time when we had the foot on their throat.

We lost this last night with the Pujara and Rahane partnership. Lyon and Starc especially bowled poorly last night. We came back well with the ball this morning but the horse had bolted.

Test cricket is a fantastic leveler.

Having M. Marsh in the side without using him for his bowling is nothing short of insulting. How the Australian selectors get away with the bullshit they do year after year is beyond me.
      TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Not going to stop happening when you have a bunny at no.6 who can't hold it together! What was the point of M Marsh in this test?

Will we look to replace Handscomb after four ordinary innings in a row? There was an expectation he might do well against turners, but he's struggled for the most part (I'll admit, I'm only going by non visual dispatches).

Does one or two of Usman and or Maxwell get a chance given our sixth bat has struggled as well?

I would be dropping M.Marsh and bringing in Maxwell and also consider Ussie for Handscomb.

I was having this discussion at work- If M Marsh was a wicketkeeper his lack of batting ability would be the basis for him not being in contention for the Test team, as you can't have a bunny batting at 7, yet he gets picked and bats one place higher because apparently he can bowl some "handy" overs. Make some sense out of that!

Actually M Marsh is the worst number 6 in history... Officially!

But his handy overs go at an average of just 37 and a strike rate over 64. The selectors need to back him in. 20 tests just isn't enough to make an assessment on.

They're in form too. SoK, Lyon & Hazlewood have achieved career best figures and Starc has taken some crucial wickets. They're doing outstanding. A lack of runs and a vacant number 6 making runs is what's hurting the most.

I think we over worked them at times. Another possibility is to throw in Agar.

India play with 4 bowlers. There is just no need for more than 4. You can get 5 overs from anyone if really needed.

Prior to Hazelwood getting 6-for in the 2nd innings, I would have seen the merit of dropping him (purely horses for courses), making M Marsh the 2nd seamer (dropping him down to no 9 in the batting order) and playing an extra batsman at 6 or a 3rd spinner (or both in the case of Maxwell). But continuing to playing Marsh as a specialist no 6 is ludicrous. Matty Wade's poor batting output is not helping the middle order frailties either.
