Not that contracts mean much nowadays but Corey Warner (Chads brother) has signed on at the Swans.

Jackson got a Victorian girlfriend and some reporters took that and concocted a story out of it.

Not sure what section to discuss this in but we are one of the four clubs linked with Matt Rowell. According to AFL.com Bevo even met with him. Oh boy. Must admit I'm not a huge Rowell fan, I get he is one of the best contested players in the competition, but outside of that he has been a below average on baller. He literally has one, one wood. Not really a threat forward and isn't the biggest midfielder despite his play style. The only way I like this potential trade is if Libba was cooked but he is still a star. Weird one for me. Love the ambition of the move but just can't get excited about it yet. Rowell is only 23 and coming into his peak but not sure he fits is right now. If he kicks 15 goals and becomes more agile and clean with his kick this season I'll be on board. To me we still have to go ALL IN on Zak Butters. He is the perfect player for our football club.

Would be going all in on both. The money should be there with what we’ve cleared up the last few years. Helps being able to trade picks 2 years in advance now as well.

Totally agree. Butters breaks the lines and converts his goal opportunities

I don’t mind the Rowell move. You need a top line inside player and once Libba retires we have a gap there. Rowell plugs it and still has plenty of upside in his game.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

It would be sensational to land him but there is a lot to play out.
Apparently Rowell likes to nibble on the game day grass at various grounds so I wonder if he's had a walk and taste test of the Whitten Ovals offering?

I'm sure he's not the only player to have been on the grass............................., so Rowell AND Butters, possible deals involving Jamarra and high draft selections? As much as we love Jamarra and hate to see him at another club and absolutely don't want him to leave however the club may now see him as bait come seasons end and as much as a talent he is with Naughton, Darcy and Croft plus Cooney (forward/mid) in next years draft, perhaps the two quality mids would make our team better (Bont, Richards, Libba, Treloar, Butters, Rowell, Kennedy, Sanders) not bad?

As for what we have in the way if deals, Jamarra surely would net us at least what Butters is worth, yes there is baggage, but the talent is there and could create a bidding war , offer up the Suns our first and 2nd this year for Rowell (need to keep 2026 picks for father sons), Butters is a RFA next year but get him a year early and snuff out the competition.

I would do that and give 2 first round picks as well.

As a dad, I think he'd rather Jax hung around Butters rather than JUH.

On the other side, Tony Shaw was saying the pies (who have no first round draft picks) should target Marra as a bargain buy.

If Marra leaves, converting his value into Butters or Rowell would be our minimum goal. Yes there are concerns but he is a #1 pick who has performed at AFL level.
