I don’t understand it that much. Marshall is pretty good.
The thing I don't understand is why St Kilda would want to spend something like $2.5 million per season on one position. TDK and Marshall are both very good to excellent rucks and ok forwards at best. Did they not see Gawn & Grundy at Melbourne?
Hawks making a play for anyone and everyone. No salary cap obviously. Or the same as Geelong.
I can see how the Hawks would have some cap space. Last year they only had 2 players estimated to be in the top 100 in the league - Amon $625-$725k and Sicily $800-$900k. This season they added Battle and Barrass on something like $800-$900k each. They have some young guys that will demand bigger contracts going forward but wouldn't be on big dollars yet.

What’s Day and Newcombe on now and into the future?

That's a good analysis Axe. They've got a bunch of solid b graders that combine to form Voltron.

No idea what they are on but Day signed his current contract in early 2023 and Newcombe in late 2022 so it's fair to assume that neither would be on big bucks. Clearly they will demand more at their next contract negotiations.

I think Meek will also be demanding big dollars as he seems to improve every week.
