I don’t understand it that much. Marshall is pretty good.

Hawks making a play for anyone and everyone. No salary cap obviously. Or the same as Geelong.

The thing I don't understand is why St Kilda would want to spend something like $2.5 million per season on one position. TDK and Marshall are both very good to excellent rucks and ok forwards at best. Did they not see Gawn & Grundy at Melbourne?

I can see how the Hawks would have some cap space. Last year they only had 2 players estimated to be in the top 100 in the league - Amon $625-$725k and Sicily $800-$900k. This season they added Battle and Barrass on something like $800-$900k each. They have some young guys that will demand bigger contracts going forward but wouldn't be on big dollars yet.

St Kilda still trying to recapture the Ryder Marshall dynamic from 2020.

It was an excellent ruck/forward duo. Can't blame them fort trying to bring in quality players.

TDK is the modern ruckman who can play all over the ground. His tap work is bottom 5 of 18 teams, but he is still young

What’s Day and Newcombe on now and into the future?

That's a good analysis Axe. They've got a bunch of solid b graders that combine to form Voltron.

                        Hardwick types.

No idea what they are on but Day signed his current contract in early 2023 and Newcombe in late 2022 so it's fair to assume that neither would be on big bucks. Clearly they will demand more at their next contract negotiations.

I think Meek will also be demanding big dollars as he seems to improve every week.

Since it's been everywhere but here.

The rumour, as far as I can tell. Is the Dogs and Cats are the frontrunners to sign Butters.

Butters wants to go to a club with some stability, hence our supposed offer to Bevo for 3 years.

Who's ready to have their heart broken again?

If Butters goes to Geelong, I’m just about done with the AFL.
