Carlton has interest in contracted Western Bulldogs forward Buku Khamis as it hunts key-position depth. Khamis has played 31 games across the last two seasons, including a run of 13 goals from eight games this year.

A couple of us were chatting to Khamis last week and he indicated he would test the market.
There is no question he loves the Bulldogs but at 25 he needs to see if can get a regular game or more opportunities elsewhere.
A great bloke who makes himself available to do academy clinics with Western Suburbs footy teams.
To think we drafted him back in 2018 I guess you can see why he's hungry for a regular spot.

St Kilda has officially registered an interest in Hawthorn’s Cam Mackenzie as the Saints’ shopping spree continues. Mackenzie has only played 12 games this year and been subbed off in two. He was a member of the Saints Next Gen Academy, but the Hawks swooped with pick 7 in 2022. Contracted until 2026; the Saints would have to part with a first rounder.

Because they are an unhappy rabble. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a side so visibly unhappy on field.

Will be surprised if the Curnow trade doesn’t happen too.

Continuity. He's often last in and first dropped up until a purple patch of form earlier this season. SOS also likely comes with its own unwanted pressures internally.

I also think there was probably just the expectation that he would never leave so was probably under appreciated.

Lastly surely he wants a role he can sink his teeth into rather than playing forward one week, back the next, second ruck or sub the week after.

He has limitations but he reads the flight of the ball as good as anyone and always gives 100%.

He's not the big boy we need but he has 3 or 4 years as the second or third. An upgrade on the Coffield / Khamis type but we'll probably play him (and he'll eventually take over) the Lobb intercept role.

A 27 year old 194cm 140 game player is the sweet spot for us next season.
