    Re: Early Trade Rumours 2023

I’m just trying to understand how that could be even contemplated.

Could the quiet part be, something like exchanging our F1 for their F2 and getting Hollands (or similar) and extra points this year.

Unless it’s a downgrade for a highly rated kid to get the deal done, there’s no making any sense of it.

Our future first could possibly end up being around pick 4 next season. Lets not play with fire here.

Lohmann's season is over after breaking his collarbone in the VFL with the No. 20 draft pick from the 2021 draft still considering his future.

The Dogs would be interested in him joining them although their fractious trade negotiations with Brisbane over Josh Dunkley might prove a complicating factor.

Tim English will again lead the ruck next year with Sam Darcy and Rory Lobb as back-up so the Dogs are still considering whether they need a fourth ruck given Darcy has proved injury-prone.

The Dogs might be prepared to offer picks 10, 17 and a future first-rounder to secure the No. 4 overall selection from Gold Coast.

They are in the box seat, with GWS having cooled on a bid to get up the order to pick 4 given their own first-rounder has now blown out to at least 14.

That trade cannot be lie. It says 'might', it's a guess. Honestly, I'd lose my mind ha.

              OK.

Say for a second it's true - and you're correct that a player is ALSO involved.

              So it's 10, 17 and a Future 1st for 4 and a player to be name 'later'.

              Who IS that player?
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

It's giving away two and gambling with the other!

Power isn't stupid, so I can only expect IF this is true then there's a player we are interested in coming back.
Now if it was like a Ben Ainsworth I may just be ok with it. Big if though.

I agree. The hedge against us imploding next year is a high pick next year. I can rule out improving or imploding. I’d rather we keep our first save from some crazy good deal that hasn’t been discussed yet.

Lots of links to Lohmann. Can he actually play? The very few games I saw him play at the top level were underwhelming.

If we got Lohmann and ended up with Pick 4, that would have to rule us out of Watson?

                      VFL PB this year:

                      Goals: 7.1 (31.17 in 15 games)
                      Disposals: 22
                      Tackles: 8
                      Marks: 9
                      AFL FP’s: 127 (4 x games over 100 points)

The kid can play. Quick and loves to tackle, a natural forward. Just needs more time at the next level at a club that can afford to blood him.

Watson, Lohmann & Clarke means Weightman could play some mid minutes and Arty goes back up the ground. Nice options. With Croft as well our forward line is set for a decade.

3 1sts is way overs for even pick 1. I REALLY don't want to trade next year's 1st in a loaded midfield draft.

Can't see any realistic scenarios in which I'd be happy with losing our future 1st in a trade for the Suns picks. Would much rather entirely trade out of this year's draft if anything, taking Croft as our top end pick, and go balls deep in the 2024 draft with 3 first rounders
