FWIW it’s nice to see Marra starting to engage with the dogs players & club again on socials, quite a few comments on instagram posts etc over the past few days getting around the boys. It’s a little thing and obviously a long way to go but it’s nice to know he hasn’t completely checked out (unlike say Baz last year)

Long shot to make it back to the afl you’d think but I have hope that IF he does get back on track I don’t think he necessarily wants to be elsewhere, IF he makes it back I think it’s with us. Fingers crossed the message is clicking with him

Deep Heat Medical Room: Round 11

Young forward Arthur Jones will be sidelined for at least the next two months.

      By Western Bulldogs Media

      Deep Heat
Scans have confirmed Western Bulldogs forward Arthur Jones will be sidelined for at least the next two months with a hamstring injury.

The 21-year-old had been recalled for the Dogs’ Round 10 clash with Essendon but was subbed off midway through the second term.

“Arthur was involved in a contest where he sprinted and lunged to lay a tackle,” Head of Sports Medicine Chris Bell said.

Thanks to Deep Heat, Chris Bell gives an injury update on Arthur Jones and Liam Jones

“The opponent has then evaded, which further rotated and overstretched Arty’s hamstring, causing a high-grade hamstring injury.

“Scans have confirmed that this involves the hamstring tendon, which is slower to heal and recover, so we expect Arty to miss at least the next two months of football.”

In more positive news, defender Liam Jones will be tested ahead of a Thursday night meeting with Geelong.

“Liam has progressed really well following his calf injury,” Bell said.

“He has been building some great training continuity across the last week, but still has some boxes to tick before we can confirm his availability.”

Meanwhile, Cody Weightman’s return-to-play timeline remains indefinite as he is expected to undergo further surgery on his knee this week.

Degeneration already settling in for Garcia, has been 2-4 weeks for a long time.
Load him up, knee get's a little angry, de-load and try again.
          Not a great sign.

Treloar & Darcy look to be the only 2 best 22 players missing now (have to put a line through Weightman & JUH as best 22 for 2025)

Darcy listed as a minimum of 2 weeks is lit.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Deep Heat Medical Room: Bye Round

Several Bulldogs are expected to be available in the weeks following the Round 12 bye.

Adam Treloar, Riley Garcia and Sam Darcy are all expected to return to availability in the weeks following the Western Bulldogs’ Round 12 bye.

Treloar remains a test ahead of the Dogs v Hawks clash next Thursday evening, while Garcia will resume full training when the program returns later this week.

“Riley is integrating back into full training following the knee injury that has kept him out of the 2025 season to date,” Bulldogs Head of Sports Medicine Chris Bell said.

“After having a few issues with the cartilage in his knee over the last few years, we have taken our time to reload his training following the surgery he underwent after his knee was injured in a VFL game.

“He still has some final boxes to tick across the next 10 days but we expect that he will return to availability not long after the bye.”

Bell said Darcy is also progressing well following his knee hyperextension injury.

“We are being very diligent and systematic with the progressions of Sam’s conservative management plan,” Bell said.

“He is starting to return to some on-field conditioning and low-level football drills. His application and professionalism to get his knee back to 100% has been outstanding.

“We will narrow our focus to a specific return-to-play program once his knee has returned to full strength and he has built continuity in his high-end football training, but we expect him to be back in the picture in the next 3-4 weeks.”

In the VFL, Anthony Scott suffered a minor adductor injury.

“From our VFL game, on a wet and slippery night, Scotty was caught in a tackle which caused his hip to overstretch when his foot slid on the ground,” Bell said.

“This has caused a minor muscle injury to his adductor. He will be monitored across our bye weekend to confirm his return to play.”

As announced earlier today, Cody Weightman will not return from a knee injury this season and has been placed on the Club’s inactive list.

Seems strange they have pushed his earliest return back 2 weeks since last week without any apparent setbacks.

He's done no contact work at this stage and hasn't joined in any of the main sessions.
I'd assume we will be cautious with him.
Perhaps he is ready for when we play the Saints.

I am very happy he is still a few weeks away. Longer the better, he remains a huge ACL risk, and need to be 100% sure everything is working as it should prior.
The win is that he did not do an ACL or require surgery; every game is a bonus.
