Gee I hope we draft him so we can have continued debates about his weight each and every year! It will make nice difference to the height discussions that are regularly had!
Oh if he grows a couple centimetres we can argue if he's KPP size too! He's about the same height Cordy was at the same point.
Pick 14 – Western Bulldogs – Fisher McAsey
195cm, 86kg
The Dogs made significant effort to address their key position shortcomings in the trade period by adding Alex Keath and Josh Bruce, but could also have an opportunity to add to those stocks in the draft.
McAsey is the best genuine key position player in the draft, a tall defender who has also shown the ability to go forward.
Small Bulldogs link for McAsey:
FISCHER MCASEY
The Sandringham Dragons key defender’s father was a one-hit wonder for St Kilda. Chris McAsey played a single game for the Saints in 1983 from two years on the club’s list. Fischer’s second-cousin, Darren McAsey, played 34 games for Sydney from 1985-91, while his uncle Alan played three games for Footscray.
Also Sam De Koning and Mitch Georgiades with more direct links.
I rate him highly, perhaps not pick 1 but certainly top 4.
He would be a great pick up for us but I don't think he will still be there. I think he would rate right alongside of Bailey Smith as someone who could come in and make a huge impact in his first season and beyond.
As I mentioned earlier Stephens and Robertson are right up there as elite players this year from the limited amount I have seen

I don't always get it right - I was famously in the "...anyone but Bontempelli" camp - but there hasn't been a kid who is as good a leader as Dev since Cripps back in 2013. Twice he has competed against players his own age at national level - and both times he has elevated his game and been awarded the player of the carnival award. He played the final 2.5 quarters of that game vs VC after a shoulder sublux...pretty sure you didn't see him trying to get easy possessions outside the contest.
I simply don't see how the player who has a family history in elite sport and who has delivered with both performance and leadership whenever the challenge was laid down wouldn't be the number 1 pick.

Doesn't have a WA best mate worthy of the no 2 spot does he? Asking for a sun-drenched friend...
Has WA ever had a no 1 draft pick? Can think of SA (Cooney, Gibbs) and Qld (Riewoldt).
Jack Martin's pre-listing is about as close as I can remember.
Sounds like Malcolm Rosas will be the Suns first NT zone listing. His name was mentioned as a later-pick small forward chance. Will be interesting to see how he develops.
