Raak looks so steady with ball in hand, as I said yesterday, now seeing 78% quantifies it well. In a footy world where turnovers kill you, a player who can use the ball so well is like gold.

I don't think he'll attract a bid within the first 40 unless he really kills it in the back half of the year, given the overage factor. He's also not overly athletic (compared to say the other Metro HB Wilmott) and I have read some criticism that he's a little too safe with the ball.

But if he gets a late bid or fingers crossed, no bid, then he's definitely worth a punt from us imo.

Absolutely agree, if a club doesn’t have a top 20 NGA Kid the new rules are great. Getting to 41+ and using pick 91 or Cat B is a great return on investment if the club likes him (which you’d expect we do to some degree).

Are we really convinced on Raak?

I have watched the games he has played at Footscray and he seems undersized for KPD and he doesn't excite me.

I have been much more impressed by MacPherson at Footscray. I know Ewan is small but he is hard at it and influences the contest.

He's not a KPD type at all, more like a Ridley if I had to find a comparison.

I agree on MacPherson though, reckon there's something there.

Jon Ralph just said that Brady Rawlings has confirmed if North have pick 1 they'll be bidding on both Daicos and Darcy with pick 1, to maintain 'draft integrity'.

                          In that order?

Well, I’m sticking with my second draft core LM strategy. Plan for Pick 1 and anything less is a bonus.

I hope we return the favor in the future with the Crows and Roo's for the integrity of the draft.
