Re: 2021 Trade Period Talk
I know Lienert has been mentioned on here a few times, must be worth consideration.
Bargain Buys: Six out-of-favour players who could be what your club is after
Jarrod Lienert is a 195cm defender who has struggled to solidify a spot in the Port Adelaide team. The Power are quite deep in the position with Aliir Aliir, Trent McKenzie, Tom Jonas, and Tom Clurey all playing the same position.
He was able to string together five consecutive games between Rounds 14 and 18, but was unable to keep his spot as the Power moved towards the finals.
Throughout those games, Lienert averaged 16.8 disposals, 4.6 rebounds from 50, 4.6 intercepts and 373 metres gained.
Due to his absences in the AFL squad, he played 12 games of SANFL in 2021. He was a standout for Port Adelaide in that competition averaging 23.3 disposals, nine rebound 50s, 5.6 marks and 97% disposal efficiency.
Throughout the 26-year-old's career, he has been above average to elite in rebound 50s, disposal efficiency, intercept possessions and metres gained for his position.
Tall defenders are valuable players and can often be difficult for clubs to find. Lienert is now coming into his prime but is unlikely to play significant minutes for the Power.
A move could be valuable for both player and club, as he could be worth a third to fourth-round pick to the right side. Lienert could be a valuable pickup like Dougal Howard was for the Saints in 2019, who also left the Power to seek further opportunities.
Lienert would provide great height and defensive instincts for any club, with the ability to drift off his man and intercept the ball. He is an elite ball user, helping rebound the ball from out of defence. He will be only 27 by the start of next season and would be ready to have a big impact on a new club in round one of 2022.Comment

Lienert has only 23 games of senior football experience and we have something better in Young anyway.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment

Re: 2021 Trade Period Talk
True but, like with Sydney getting Hickey last year, maybe there needs to be a bit of a punt on someone not getting opportunities and back them in, and just maybe they come good? I’m not sure we’re going to be able to take players who are best 22 already elsewhere given what we don’t have to trade with.Comment

Re: 2021 Trade Period Talk
Unfortunately players like that don't grow on trees. I really don't think we'll be big players in the trade period, a couple of "money ball" moves and draft. Our hands are pretty tied up like last season and we're not going to be gifted a Treloar type again.Comment

Re: 2021 Trade Period Talk
I like Lienert but he'd be taking the Wood/Crozier role rather than be a big KPD we're looking for.

Re: 2021 Trade Period Talk
This of course brings up the intriguing scenario of if we package Sweet and Young into a trade to the same team, would Danjul request to be included in the trade?

Re: 2021 Trade Period Talk
Rival clubs have shown interest in Jordon Sweet, reports the Herald Sun, as the Bulldogs look to secure the off-contract ruckman on a new deal.
Sweet, who was taken as a rookie in the 2018 draft, broke through to make his AFL debut in 2021.
In the five games the 23-year-old played, the Bulldogs won four of them and led the led the clearance count in all five.
The Herald Sun reported on Thursday morning the Bulldogs had offered Sweet a new deal to stay at the Whitten Oval.
But after utility Lewis Young was picked ahead of Sweet during first-choice ruckman Stefan Martin’s injury absence in the back-half of the season, multiple clubs have reportedly asked about Sweet’s footy future.Western Bulldogs: 2016 PremiersComment
