It helps and shows we're concious of being better in this space but we aren't a club Indigenous players tradionally wish to go to.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Having said that I’m resigned to the fact we won’t be trading in a ruckman this trade period.
It's starting to look like that. Would a one year deal for someone Casboult while Bruce is out just provide that extra bit of depth support to cover any injuries?

That is true..but that’s one player. He’s not going to choose us when there’s 5+ at other clubs who have been known to nurture their indigenous players. I hope we are into him, but it’s very unlikely.

Casboult is someone we should be sounding out. He is very competitive in the air and can ruck when needed.

Casboult is almost the perfect plug & play isn’t he? He can play forward, back, ruck and take a great grab. He’d suit us and at little cost. Have thought about this as soon as I heard he was let go.

The only downside might be that he takes a spot from one of the younger players but when you consider the injury to Bruce, the inability attract a ruckman so far and question marks on Martins durability a player like Casboult might make sense on a one year deal.

I don't think it will happen but as you say it's a low cost low risk option. Perhaps he can teach Naughton how to improve his goal kicking accuracy as well.

I'd say it's a long shot that he arrives at the Kennel even if we fail to attract a decent ruck.

Can we picku him up as a rookie? Not sure if he would want to but its good cover

He sounds like a good person to have around at the club , and much liked by Carlton’s playing group

It's possible but we are probably moving some other players onto the rookie list and in the off chance we were interested why not get him to club asap. I suspect we would only offer him a one year deal so where he sits on the list probably isn't that important.

The odds weren't long on that happening. For all the criticism Dodoro cops he does land players to a club that hasn't won a final in a long, long time.

Interesting thoughts about Tippa. How’s this leave his place in the side?

They'd be delighted to have another player in the forward line that could hit the scoreboard.
