Based on your recommendation I just had a look at his profile. Without having seen much of him it sounds like he would be someone who could be available from around our pick 30. We need some taller guys but losing Dunkley and two ageing mids in Liberatore and Treloar should mean there is a need for some quality mids as well.

WA’s Darcy Jones just smashed Stephen Hill’s long standing Combine agility record of 7.77 seconds with a lightning 7.70 seconds!

WA’s Ed Allan looks at his time of 2.81 seconds for the 20 metres to top all comers for speed at the Draft Combine in Melbourne - the son of former star Hawk and Docker Ben isn’t eligible for either under the AFL’s father/ son rules !!

Where's he expected to go in the draft? A tall and fast wingman would be amazing for us

He could be one of the big bolters in this years draft. I don't I have read too many Phantom drafts that have him inside of pick 30.

This is one of the write-ups

Allan, the son of Hawthorn and Fremantle player Ben, looms as a late bolter as an athletic midfielder with imposing size at 194cm. Unfortunately for Hawks fans, he misses out on father-son eligibility by just two games, with his father playing 98 matches for the brown and gold during the 90s. A stress fracture in his back kept Allan out for most of his draft year but he was able to find plenty of the footy in an inside midfield role for Claremont upon his return in the WAFL Colts, averaging 25.4 and five clearances in five matches. He also played one game for Western Australia at the national championships on a wing, showcasing his versatility as a midfielder. The running machine was Western Australia’s top performer in their 2km time trial earlier in the year and can boost his stocks further at the national combine.

The coverage on the draft combine has been extremely disappointing so far. I daresay they won't be overlapping with trade week again.

Best in the state team for 2KM and running a 2.81 for twenty is exactly the type of player you want on a wing - particularly at 194cm.

However, I get scared when I hear stress fractures, late bloomer and athletic too close together in a player profile!

The frustrating thing is that there's quite a few players in that 15-30 range that sound pretty damn good. Allan, Weddle and Charlie Clarke all sound like weapons and we'd love all three of them in the side.

Wowee! Some big calls in there! I also think Cadman will jump right up there on draft night. His upside is just too appealing. McKenzie is a big drop, and I'd be pleased if he was there for our pick.

I think someone will take the punt on George.

I wouldn't be surprised if Humphrey or Phillipou ended up even higher. Likewise, I wouldn't be surprised if Sheezel, Hewett or Ginbey dropped.

By rumour, West Coast are only willing to trade back to pick 8 because Ginbey will still be there.
It's like Dom Sheed all over again.

After the first 5 or so there seems to be a fair bit of difference in how draft watchers rank the kids. Seems to be a bit of quality in the 'next tier' as well

I think you're right on Cadman, ditto Phillipou (Port if they don't get JHF across the line). I think Sheezel goes high, teams look at ceiling more than floor

North Melbourne would be stupid to trade pick 1 especially if pick 2 is coming their way. Cadman and Sheezel would be a fantastic combo to add to Larkey and Zurhaar. It makes their forward line a lot more imposing.

I'd have Weddle above Hayes. Weddle is the best tall defender in this draft from my viewpoint.

I don't see it with Hustwaite & Konstanty as 1st rounders.
