SB?s info was awesome last year, he was first to break a heap of stories with pretty much 100% accuracy, although towards the end of the year he started to get a fair bit wrong. He said Lobb was 100% gone, McQualter & Dew were coming, and he did say Baz to sign a 2 year deal a month ago.

I have no doubt he has connections, he?s definitely proven that - but of course your connections are only as good as the info being fed to you. Obviously things change quickly in this industry so who knows maybe all these things were correct at the time or maybe someone?s feeding him a narrative which suits them, ie if it?s coming from the player side rather than club side who knows.

Either way I?m not buying the Marra talk, I?m sure his manager wants the club to think he?s a risk of leaving but I?ve never been more sure that a player will stay. If we have to lose one of English/Baz or hell even both, to keep him, we?ll do that no doubt about it.

I?d put very good money on JUH being wrapped up within the first month of the season, hell it wouldn?t surprise me if it comes out on the season eve, or maybe after our first bad loss of the season

It would seem like the nuclear option to let Baz and English go to keep JUH, but I agree, I think i'd do it. I believe we could cover the loss of a gun midfielder and ruck, I don't think we could cover JUH who looms as a generational key forward in the Jeremy Cameron mould.

I don't know if there are any people with the inside word in here, but can someone make a rumour that JUH is staying. Out of the entire time I have followed footy, losing this kid it will hurt as much as, if not more, than when we nearly lost Grant. This kid could be our Buddy, Christ I hope he stays.

There was a rumor he'd be signed up before Christmas... Starting to maybe doubt that one.

No inside word, I do have a thin thread of a relationship with Marra since he started. From what I sense, it would have to be an offer that blows ours out of the ball park, like 25% better for him to go.

Edit: Lets say if we offered 800k x 5 and he got offered 1.3 x 10 then yes he'd be gone.

I think we will give him a Naughton type deal. I don't think we should, but we will have to.

I'd be offering him a 10 year deal on 1m+. I hope you're right. He is one of the few players I have watched that draws me through the turnstiles. Big Bazza did, Grant and Libba did, Bont , and Naughts do. Marra definitely does.

If we want to win a flag or two in the next 5 to 10 years, JUH gets signed. Yep it could be a bust, but selling him sells 3 years of development of a key forward. He has X factor and I rekon by the end of year 3 we would be saying thank f*ck we signed him for a long term contract

Every club has a decent KPF. Very few clubs have two good ones. We have to try and seperate ourselves from the pack and having Marra paired with Naughton might be our best shot at doing that.

And the disappointing thing seems to be that the AFL clearly think that kind of coverage is good for the game

You can sell hope for the future to all 18 clubs supporters. You can't get everyone engaged in their teams performance now if their team is crap
