If Geelong lost Mackie to the GC, would they want an Everitt type to fill that role? Maybe Everitt for Djerrkura? Would we be paying over the odds there?
I will never see #16 the same!!

      I think so.

Djerrkura and their second rounder (which is almost pick 50) should do it, but I'd prefer to trade Everitt to a team that won't make him a better player (Richmond, Brisbane, WC etc).
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

It's the day after, so still a dangerous time to be posting, but atm I'd be prepared to test the market with Gilbee. Yes he is an elite kick, but he didn't show it that much this year and as a learned fellow Woofer pointed out to me last night, he's not that young anymore. And we were very close to dropping him this year.

If we're confident that he can recapture top form then we should probably stick with him, but if he's about to fall off the cliff it makes some sense to see if we can capitalise on his value and get some of what we desperately need - pace and skill around the middle and coming out of defense.
          Can't see us trading Gilbee.

What would we get for him? He will turn 30 next year and has been on the decline for awhile. We can also put him on the vets list next year which means he adds a bit more value to us.

            Andrew Krak-ing trade deal

Braden Quartermaine - Sunday Herald Sun - 19 September

SANDOVER medallist Andrew Krakouer could become a West Coast player as early as trade week, which begins in a fortnight.

The Gold Coast has also flagged its interest in Krakouer, and the 27-year-old could become an Eagle after a trade week deal between the two clubs.

On top of the ability to sign up to 16 uncontracted players from rival clubs, the Gold Coast is able to pre-list up to 10 players who have previously nominated for the draft or been listed with an AFL club, such as Krakouer.

The Gold Coast could pre-list Krakouer and then trade him to West Coast for a draft pick.

Just on random mature age players to look at recruiting Isaac Smith from the North Ballarat Roosters impressed in the VFL Grand Final.

Quick, raw left footer who could be worth a look. Didn't get much of the footy but looked good when he did. Already a thread on him on BigFooty where apparently he has attracted some interst from AFL clubs.

Here is an article regarding him: http://www.thecourier.com.au/news/lo...p/1877073.aspx

With an obviously lack of foot speed on our current list I'd be trying to get Sherman from Brisbane to the club. Not sure what we could offer, picks most likely as brisbanes salary cap is as tight as Warwick Cappers shorts. Thoughts?

In short yes, he has explosive pace and plays his best footy when taking the game on. He woul be a good fit for us on a wing and through the midfield rotation.

He has AFL recruit written all over him, just his running balanced raking left footy. I didn't see enough to judge whether he can really play but his long armed and super looking kick is sure to gain attention.

I don't disagree but I was thinking if we had a Leigh Brown type could we test the trade waters with Minson?

This is what I think we should be doing.

Not sure on possible targets, but a Leigh Brown type would be good insurance. I've stood by Will for some time, but he doesn't offer us enough.

I'm not sold on Sherman. Speedy yes, but I don't think his disposal is up to scratch. Looks like a sprayer and a turnover king.
