Matt Rosa WCE is reportedly looking for a change of clubs, would definately consider as he can dispose of it, and has good pace, more of an outside player.

Alwyn Davey & Leeroy Jetta remained unsigned, definately either of the 2 would address our lack of goalsneak.
    Chris Knights - no brainer

These are the player I would be targeting. Wonder if Adelaide would be interested in Minson?

Sherman(if the Lions agreed to pay a portion of his salary) and Drummond would also be worth the look too, only if they didn't want so much money(Sherman's on $900,000 over the next two seasons). Oh Vossy, what have you done.

Ben McKinley (west coast), Matt Spangher (west coast), Andrew Krakouer (swan districts) worth a look?

Seeing as though you hinted that they rated a ruckman of ours just a couple of posts back it's probably a fair chance it's big Will.

Especially considering that Huddo is 31 and ain't going back to Crowville and both Roughy & Cordy are off-limits.

Krakouer would be, but because he's previously been on an AFL list Gold Coast have first dabs on him.

My query on Krakouer is, will he really be that much better than when he was a regular best 22 player at Richmond from 2003-6 inclusive.

Played 77 games during that period, averaging 11.4 disposals (7.3 kicks), 2.7 marks, 1.1 goals and 3.4 tackles.

I know he's been playing midfield at WAFL level this year and his numbers and influence has been super impressive but he'll be 28 by the start of next season, having last played in the AFL in 2007, so leaving aside all of his off field issues, is he really that likely to have an impact at AFL level?

I really believe we need to keep Big Will.
Yes he has an ordinary season but with extenuating circumstances. Huddo has maybe a season or 2 left but Will is entering his prime.

                    Will is 25
Jamar at Melbourne has come good this year at 27
Huddo did not debut until he was 25.

Will has lots to offer with his strength and aggression. He is also a great club man. Unfortunately too many seriously under rate him.

But what if we can get a player of Knights quality for him?

If we get Knights and keep our A Graders, I would not mine losing a second string player and a draft choice for him.

I don't think Knights will be able to take the ruck burden if Hudson happened to go down.

Roughead needs to show that his shoulders are right before you can rely on him.

                            Re: Minister of Trades

But if we do leave Minson we are in a fragile position concerning our ruck division. It would mean that after Hudson and Roughead our next best are Prato, Markovic (if he is retained) and Everitt (if he stays).

That is no where near enough cover considering Roughead injury issues and Hudson's age, and it would be very unlikely we would get anyone even close to Minson's ability as that backup.

However, Chris Knights would be nice.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

Exactly right...what is the use of throwing up pipe dream trades. The fact is you need to offer something that a club needs (ie. in Adelaides case a ruckman). Yes it might come back to bite you in the bum but really our ruck stocks are good. We have three developing ruckmen (Roughy,Cordy, Prato) and an absolute gun in Huddo who IMO has at least 2-3 years left in him.

If we could get Knights for Will, i would take it.

But the problem here is that Roughead frequently gets injured, Cordy is a stick figure who is always injured and Prato has played one full season ever and is only just pushing his way towards the Williamstown seniors. If we had to call on any of them for the whole season I think our ruck division would be a weakness, and as Johnson and West have shown, players bodies can go downhill very quickly.

I would only support trading Minson if we got someone of at least Skipper's ability as a backup for our rucks.
