Also one on BF is that we've shown interest in Post from Richmond.

I'll agree with you re. Higgins, but not about Griffen, he has been our best player for two years now and is more effective and critical for/to our team than Boyd.
Agree to disagree. Poor technique is exposed when under pressure and fatigued.

If you think that Griffen can't improve that's fair enough. I think he can become more consistent, irrespetive of whether he's been our best player these past two seasons.
      TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Taking Higgins out of the conversation you are trying to tell me that Cross has had more influence on our performances than Griffen... That's a new one.

From the point of view that each of Cross and Boyd get the most out of themselves consistently, and influence the game to the best of their ability more often than Griffen does to the best of his ability.

Due to his talent Griffen is likely to influence a game more easily, though I don't think he's historically been as consistent in output.

I think you're expectations exceed his capacity to deliver to your requirments. He is a gun who if he played at any of the big Victorian teams would be an out and out superstar of the game. He could learn to shake a tag better granted, but he gets absolutely no support from our players with this and reguarly gets smashed up becasue of it.

He has gone from truly outside to predominately inside over the past 2 years (and is regularly expected to do both consistently by supporters). He has a BF to his name, has been our best player in finals, he kicks goals, cracks in, carries the ball and has been loyal to the club.

When he is finished he will go down as one of our best ever.

I take Macca's heavy lifting comment to imply that both he and Missy need to show more leadership both on and off the ground, perhaps be more of a face for the club and mentor less experienced players as they commence their careers in the AFL.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

I love Griff, but I think he has a bit of work to do before he's mentioned in the same breath as Grant, West, Johnson and co. as one of the best ever.

He has the capacity to be top five in the competition, but isn't. You could say it's because we are poor and/or don't protect him enoguh, which whilst a contributing factor, isn't the only one. Judd, Ablett, Watson and many others still perform at a consistently high level every week despite being in some poor sides in recent years.

On one hand, he misses some easy shots. On the other, royally pushing sh** up hill without much of a hand, and tagged to the max

Re: 2012 Trade rumours and discussion

Lets get this thread back on track please.

HAWTHORN has been linked with delisted Port Adelaide star David Rodan, who may join the Hawks in the national draft if he isn’t taken beforehand. It is said that Richmond, his former club, is also keen on Rodan.

The Hawks are keen on adding another established star to the mix as they contend for another flag.

ST KILDA is reportedly interested in Carlton ruckman Robbie Warnock as it searches for a back-up ruckman to Ben McEvoy.
Now seemingly out of the race for Gold Coast ruckman Tom Hickey, with talks between the Suns and Saints going cold, the Saints are now poised to offer Warnock a new home.
Warnock arrived at Carlton with huge expectations but has failed to deliver since coming from Fremantle.

MELBOURNE’S Stefan Martin will fly to Brisbane today to meet the Lions as a trade now looks destined between the two parties.

The Demons, NORTH MELBOURNE and PORT ADELAIDE are all negotiating trades for Cameron Pedersen to head to Melbourne and Ben Jacobs to head to North.

At what point did David Rodan become a star?

My thoughts exactly. He is average at best.

Rodan isn't a star, though he'd be hard to contain in a midfield and forward half that contained depth, such as Hawthorn's.

The use of the word star is extremely liberal these days.

Every one is a star or great when looking for a new club.

Apparently Syndey and the Crows are looking for a 3rd party to get involved with this Tippett deal.

I wouldn't mind getting involved, only if we clearly benefit from it.

Can anyone think of something we could do?

The trouble with Sydney is they want their cake and to eat it to. You have to give up something of value to get something of value. Sydney are playing hard ball and will probably take this to the wire.

I don't think we should get involved .

Not going to happen but..............Pick 6 to Crows, Tippett to Swans and Reid to Dogs.
