I'm in the Walker > Tippet group as well. We've basically got Cordy and Roughead on our list already who are very similar, albeit poor man's versions, of Tippet. By contrast our list is screaming out for that explosive power forward type, of which Walker very much fits the bill.

Walker would be a very handy player to get. Scultz from Port in my view would also be a good type of player to have as well.

How many years do you reckon Minson has in him. The ruck area may also be where we need someone further down the track. If Minson all of sudden did leave won't happen of course how do you think Roughy or Campbell would go in the ruck.

Campbell looks a good prospect because of his body strength and tapping capabilities and took a giant step forward in his first season of AFL. Whilst Minson remains however the long periods he spends on the ball as demonstrated this year limits the development of either Roughead and/or Campbell as pure ruckmen.

I thought he should have been looked at when he went from Richmond, but I got shot down.

He seems like an okay toarget to me. Probably straighten us up a bit, think the horse has bolted on that one though.

I didn't shoot you down cause i agreed with you. Beautiful kick, good set of hands, would of been a good smart pick up back then. I think we did have some interest back then, didn't we?

Jesse Hogan traded to Melbourne from GWS via 17yo mini-draft plus pick 20, Dom Barry for picks 3 and 13 (Hogan not eligible to play AFL until 2014)

I'm not advocating that we go hell for leather to get Dawes, however Dawes would definitely be best 22 for us and is of the right age.

If the coach thinks Dawes (or any other player) is best 22 for us and fits the age and team-orientated approach we aim for, and the coach wants him, surely it then gets down to price?
