Re: 2014 draft watch
all good, i didn't read the original article properly, i mistakingly thought it suggested that only TAC players should be under consideration. My bad.Comment

Re: 2014 draft watch
Sad to hear that - wish him all the best in his recovery. After a good season as an under-age player it must be devastating to be ruled out with a long term injury at this time.Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?Comment

CALEB SETS CRACKING PACE
By ZAC MILBANK | Twitter @zacmilbank
South Adelaide livewire Caleb Daniel has impressed as the 2014 SANFL Under-18 Academy launched its campaign with a two-day camp at St Mark’s College last weekend.
One of 56 of SA’s most talented players selected in next year’s squad, Daniel burst onto the scene this year to average 17 disposals in 10 league matches with the Panthers.
And the 17-year-old midfielder has certainly made his intentions clear for next season after finishing inside the top-10 in five categories tested.
Recording an impressive Level 15-7 to lead the way in the Beep Test, Daniel was also ranked in the top-five for the 20m sprint and 3km time trial.
He also posted strong scores in the Nathan Buckley Kicking Test and Matthew Lloyd Clean Hands Test.
‘’It is a mark of his professionalism that he was able to look after himself (during the off-season) and present himself in good nick,’’ SANFL High Performance Manager Brenton Phillips said of Daniel, who measures in at just 166cm and 66kg.
‘’He’s played league football to a reasonable standard so that will also give himself every opportunity next year.’’
Phillips was also impressed with North’s Oleg Markov, who won the 20m sprint in a time of 2.92 seconds, the Eagles’ Ethan Haylock and Glenelg’s Billy Stretch, who nearly broke the 10-minute barrier for the 3km time trial.
‘’His (Stretch’s) 3km run was fantastic,’’ Phillips said.
‘’The way he presents himself for football is first-class.’’
Phillips said the two-day gathering had provided him with confidence in planning to defend the Under-18 AFL National Championship next year.
‘’From my point of view it gives me a quick snapshot of the talent coming through,’’ Phillips said.
‘’And the needs required moving forward. I walked away from it on Sunday quietly confident that we have got enough talent to compete strongly at next year’s championships.’’
The SANFL Under-18 Academy will meet again in February next year for a week of training at Max Basheer Reserve leading up to an internal trial match at AAMI Stadium on February 15.

Re: 2014 draft watch
The Matthew Lloyd clean hands test sounds a bit pervy. They should publicise it by showing the footage of Kritter continually punching Llooody's hand that time. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

Re: 2014 draft watch
The Matthew Lloyd Perfectly Placed Hip and Shoulder to the Head Award. Parents would be so proud to hang that above the mantle.
