Sorry Webby and Aza, yes I have seen Jayden this year. He has some nice tricks and has been consistently ticking over as a FF this year. I'm not sure how to read everything, early on he has had Wright taking the best defender and he's a big boy so in weaker sides he should play well. I think the opinion was it wasn't talent that stopped anything last year, but rather injury etc. If he finishes with 30 or more goals this year (currently 15 at the halway point, and only 6 games) then I keep hearing TwoDogs and Webby's words about his dad's development, then maybe the club take a gamble if it's a rookie spot because he is improving and is kicking goals and does have some good attributes.

      Re: 2014 draft watch

Just listened to Callum Twomey on the draftees.
Thinks we might be giving up a second rounder for Zaine .
Also says Mccartin is the most natural forward in the draft.
Big wraps on a kid in WA called Tyler Kytel
Jarred Pickett looks ideal for us ( although I think our supporters might die of shock seeing someone with run and carry)

        Re: 2014 draft watch

I'm a big fan of Pickett and he has exactly what we need.

I'm genuinely unsure about Goddard as a top 5 pick, but he has been down on form this year, he may regain it and change my mind.

Unless we can get a tall out of Durdin, Wright or McCartin, I would probably look to Pickett.

Keitel played some great footy for WA the other day but we would want to see more from him before considering him with a pick in the top 5, especially when there are other known quantities about.

Is Pickett playing midfield or half back?
More of an In Bruges guy?

Have read Kietel is a bit similar to Jackson Paine in that he's not genuinely tall and not particularly mobile, just wondering what our fantastic draft watchers think?

Just looking at some highlights of him on AFL.com from last weekend. Seems mobile enough and looks a decent contested mark. That's my first impression of him.

Apparently he's grown to 194cm as well.

Only seeing a highlights package, and I'll be interested in what MJP thinks.

It will be interesting to see which way we go with our first selection in this years draft.

There will be some terrific young players available what ever selection we have so I think we can have a couple of good midfielders or key position just waiting for us to name them.

                      What is your preference?

My preference is to get a quick midfielder who has excellent skills by foot and hand. I'd actually settle for a midfielder who has reasonable pace but first class skills.

Pickett or Duggan for mine, unless we end up low enough to get one of McCartin, Durdin or Wright.

Can see us taking Goddard if available but unless I see a turn around in form from him, I'd prefer the pace of Pickett or skills of Duggan.

Either way, happy to just go for best available talent between those.

Terry Wallace ( the list manager) got us getting Durdin .

Is Duggan a line breaker? Heard he's got nice skills

Durdin has a very light frame in terms of physical development. Not sure he'd be Cordy-like in terms of timeframe needed, but he'll take a good three years of weights to get the strength needed for KP/ruck duties. No overly not a criticism of his abilities, just noting that we have players lag in this area before/currently.

More I think about it the more I'm leaning towards a clean skilled mid, perhaps Brayshaw at this early stage, given that Wright will be gone if we get pick 4-6.
