Andrew Raines has walked from Brisbane. No we shouldn't chase, unless he wants a gig with Footscray as an older head.

Can Sam Blease add something we don't have? Pace and good skills.

Ben Griffiths from tigers is out of contract. Strong mark and long kick. Injury prone though.
More of an In Bruges guy?

Griffiths and Jaksch as delistings? Be like a cupcake at a fat camp.

OUT OF contract next year, Adelaide acting co-captain Rory Sloane says he's not going anywhere.Sloane will play his 100th game on Sunday against St Kilda but is only contracted with the Crows until the end of 2015.
Superstars Patrick Dangerfield and Taylor Walker are also out of contract next year.

I could've sworn that Walker was meant to be out of contract, but he signed an extension the year before. There was some talk that's how clubs might try to negotiate to avoid their superstars getting near FA status?

I like the speed of Blease and the way he can break lines.

There's a case to be made that player's from Melbourne have never had a reasonable crack at league footy, so there's potential upside in them. Then again there's a case to be made that they're so damaged they're nonredeemable. I wouldn't rule a player out just because they didn't have an impact at Melbourne.

Yep it's all been cultural and development problems at Melbourne.
I think you could get a few diamonds out of the rough if you can turn that damage around.

GVGjr made the good point in a separate thread that it certainly has damaged Stefan Martin based on how he's stepped into the ruck duties at the Lions after West and Leunberger went down.

Benell has been handy at WC too hasn't he?

Martin did show that ability at Melbourne though in 2011 when he had to take over as the lone ruckman for part of that season. Problem was that Jamar was the incumbent and Martin never really was able to play as the second ruck. With the players Melbourne are looking at moving on this year, I don't really see any of them having shown those glimpses when given a chance, even if it's a small chance.

Sam Blease has shown very little at VFL level let alone AFL, he may be quick but Dees supporters say he has poor foot skills and doesn't find the footy. Not adverse to pulling something reusable from the Dees scrap heap but I don't think Blease has what it takes.

What about Jack Watts? Is he a rescue candidate?

He could still be a player I reckon.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
