I know there are quite a few Arcade Fire fans on woof, so I thought I'd share a couple of songs from their upcoming album that have just been leaked onto the internet. Here they are:

Given both tracks a couple of spins already today. 'The Suburbs' has a very different feel to Neon Bible - it's got a nice piano led riff that chuggs along effortlessly. Like it a lot already. 'Month of May' reminds me a little of '(Antichrist Television Blues)' from Neon Bible and has Springsteen's fingerprints all over it. Some interesting new directions in sound and a little less bombast than a couple of the more OTT moments from Neon Bible. Can't wait for the album to come out.

Just bought Dirty Projector's CD Bitte Orca. A very fine avante garde pop album and really enjoying the weird harmonies.

Thanks for the heads up Sedat, have both Neon Bible & Funeral on cd, looking forward to their new album.

Wake Up + No Cars Go = awesome.

Arcade Fire are very good, one of my favourite bands.

Hmm latest pick ups for me include....

Treat - coup de grace (unbelievable swedish hard rock...their best yet)
Ratt - infestation (great return to the rock roots)
Wig Wam - non stop rock n roll (a little disappointing compared to previous cd)
Pretty Maids - Pandomonium (great return to form...heavy and melodic)
I will never see #16 the same!!

Just bought Blitzen Trapper's Furr album. Really enjoying it, part Southern Rock, part Wilco, with a dash of the Byrds (circa Sweetheart of the Rodeo) and mid 60's Dylan.

Also bought one I always wanted years ago Pavement's Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain. A 90's classic.

I wrote a really long post explaining my mild disappointment at the new Hold Steady album and effusing about Titus Andronicus' "The Monitor". My internet crapped out when I tried to post it, but in summary I'm mildly disappointed with the new Hold Steady album and The Monitor is unlikely to be beaten for my album of 2010 depsite it being flawed as all hell. It's ragged, sprawling, messy, epic and beautiful.

I've been listening to The Chemicals Brothers latest album 'Further'. And must say it is a return to form(after two dud albums where they were more worried about trying to make pops songs rather than make people dance). Had this on repeat while I've been painting inside my house and it's making the time fly by. Easily the best Electro album to have come this year.

Comes out on Friday or you can find it on the net now if you can't wait(like me). And I'll end up buying this CD as well so I can add it to my collection.

It's good isn't it? Sleepy time in the Western World's a good opener - saw them down here at the Hi-Fi last year.

Their new album 'Destroyer of the Void' has just been released this week.
