I wrongly assumed you were a electronic head through and through?

Did you see the Brit music doco Live Forever in the early 2000's? Jarvis played a bit part in it but had some classic one liners. The doco mainly focused on Blur, Oasis and Tony Blair....

I saw Jarvis solo at the Forum at is was an epic show and he was very funny.

One of my favourite bands is Soulwax they were indie but then they turned to electronic music.

Anyways my point is that Soulwax have remixed a Pulp song - so thats the common link.

I reckon there's a fair balance between electronic rubbish that I've posted in this thread and more conventional gems (or rubbish, depending on your taste!). As for Pulp, I had the album cover of A Different Class as my avatar for a few years whilst posting here, in fact, I think when I changed my avatar to that you commented that you didn't know I was a Pulp fan so here we are!

I've not seen the documentary, but I loved the British bands between 1995-2001 or thereabouts. As for Jarvis, I've wanted to see him live but I guess I'll have to be contented with seeing Pulp at Festival Hall in 1999 for the This is Hardcore tour show which was pretty awesome (the only other act I've seen from that time is Radiohead).

2manyDJs were a good compromise at house party's in the day, or in the car with a mixed crew of different tastes. Cheesy as *!*!*!*!, but fun nonetheless and lyrics for people to sing along to (which is really important to people). Never got into Soulwax's stuff outside of that.

They are amazing, Pub Band Royalty.

If all goes to plan I'll be seeing them again in January at the Corner. Can't wait.

The last time I reckon that I saw them would have been at the Esplanade in the mid 2000s at a reunion gig. It was free too. Supported by the Powder Monkeys or Bored or one of those Geelong bands.

I might look into that Corner gig myself.

I think there may be a few The Cure fans around........but I can't recall them being too vocal. As always, I prefer a studio extended mix to show the true brilliance.

And that's probably one of the most nostalgic tunes I've got in my mind and posted here, it reminds of sitting in the high-rider in my mum's late seventies Corrola in the early eighties......before she upgraded to the sickest station wagon of all time, the 1981 2.6ltr five speed Mitsubishi Sigma GLX.....which was silver as *!*!*!*!.

Here's something a bit basic in terms of drumming and melody, however, it was the type of tune that shaped dance floors globally between the time progressive house became less fashionable the the minimal stage kicked in across Europe:

Whilst it sounds like one of those tunes soccer teams of the late 00's would play to celebrate their heroics when you actually break it down it's very technical and well put together. There's not another tune I've heard that matches it for it's genre.

Produced by Giorgio Moroder, this is pretty much the ancestor of the darker deeper house music that was prevalent in Melbourne before John Course and Andy Van *!*!*!*!ed the scene with Viscous Vinyl and their electro crap.

And technically you don't get better representations of the genre, esepecially with Donna Summer on the mich.

Interestingly, Moroder admitted in many interviews that the scene in Top Gun with Take My Breath Away was his favourite career moment. Just goes to show there's not point in arguing with genius, taste doesn't always trump sentimentalism.

This is a more modern view or house/ progressive house. Circa 2005/6. Extremely well put together track.
