Re: What are you watching at the moment
Curb is by far my favorite comedy and I'm a HUGE Seinfeld fan. I wish I was more like Larry, I swallow my tongue way too often.
Watching Narcos Mexico season 2 right now. It is a bit slow at the minute but I expect it to get better like all the others.
Also started watching Altered Carbon season 2 the other night. Its a pretty good if you like Sci-fi.
One thing about the show is the cleverness is in the concept and not the dialogue, but that's the genre sometimes I suppose.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

Re: What are you watching at the moment
Better Call Saul is back and it is a welcome distraction counting down time to when the next episode drops on a Monday night, rather than THAT looming further off Friday night.
For Breaking Bad fans that haven’t seen it, or couldn’t get past season 1 I would recommend that you stay with it. It has got better with each new season (or perhaps I am able to distance myself from BB a bit more and view it in it’s own right). I have recently started watching Season 1 and I think I enjoyed it more second time round- again maybe now I am not comparing it to BB?Comment

Re: What are you watching at the moment
For anyone who has read the book, or his other books, you might have felt there is always a sense of paranoia involved with his writing that makes you kind of feel like the reality you're being narrated is true and reasonable in the context of the storyline, but there's just something not quite right.
A bit like David Lynch does with Twin Peaks.
Anyway, the low key but hyper-pressurised nature of series one was really well done and while it plods it also moves really quickly and just makes you feel as if something isn't right with the reality the protagonists are living. I'm now up to episode three of season two, and it's maintained that really well.Last edited by jeemak; 25-03-2020, 04:07 PM.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

Re: What are you watching at the moment
I've been reading and watching the shorts of a show called Billions. It's about a US attorney General going after a dodgy (is there any other sort of) billionaire called David Axelrod.
Has anyone seen it? What's it like? They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

I took nearly 6 years to follow up on this, and I wish I could do a PhD on The Wire. It took a while to really grab me, but then it didn’t let go. Also, I’ve not seen any Police TV Show encapsulate the general policing culture of that era and before (my era) until now. Top notch referral.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment
