      Would 5 get it done?

Giving up multiple draft picks to end up with your second choice would be really annoying.

I guess some clubs would be interested. Clubs looking at a tilt could use him. West Coast could do with his kicking skills, Freo just need someone half decent to come to them, North would love him deluded as they are that they are close. And Carlton have always savoured him. How better to start a rebuild than to bring in a 30 yo?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

The only way I can see him going is if the Bombers pay part of his salary.

They might get something for him, but would have to pay some money to get that return I'd suspect

Jack Redden is on his way to West Coast for the Eagles' first pick in the draft, No. 17. Pretty much done.

Basically got 9 and 28 for danger. I too think they have done well.

Collingwood got 5 and 25 for beams. Considering Danger could have gone for just a compo pick they've done really well.

Cats have no pick in the first 2 rounds this year and trading away picks in the first 2 rounds next year?

Good deal for both parties. Lions just need to get something good for Aish

Does anyone think that deal as it stands will get done?

I tend to think that would be paying overs by a fair bit. Perhaps they are trying to claw something extra back to cover an unders deal for Bennell.

Re: Confirmed Trades, FS, FA, delistings etc for all AFL Clubs 2015

West Coast think they have been ripped off with the compensation the AFL have given them for losing Scott Selwood

West Coast Eagles Chief Executive Trevor Nisbett has reacted angrily at the AFL’s decision to award the club a second round draft selection for losing free agent Scott Selwood to Geelong.

West Coast decided today that it would not match the Cats offer to Selwood, allowing the former Eagles vice-captain to move to his destination of choice.

The AFL has determined that the club will get an additional second round selection (currently selection 37) at the National Draft as fair compensation for losing Selwood, a 135-game veteran at just 25 years of age.

“Why have Restricted Free Agency and Free Agency Compensation if you are to be treated with such disrespect.” Nisbett questioned. “The West Coast Eagles has been the home of Scott Selwood for eight years and he is approaching the prime of his career at 25 years of age.

“He was our vice-captain, he has been trained up by the club and we need to replace him.

                      Fair compensation or not?

I would have thought a 2nd round was more than adequate.

That's the rules, it's based on where your picks are. It's simple. But intuitively... If Buddy was worth pick 18, and Higgins 28, then Selwood is worth about pick 37 based on contract lengthes, contract figures and quality of player.

The bigger evil is a club getting pick 3 for a Frawley type.

No.. Perhaps this years 1st and next years 2nd.. GC may need to throw in a sweetener, maybe this years 3rd round pick which GC may not need to use if they trade all of Dixon, Smith & Bennell.

Where it lands is the issue, regardless of what round it's in, it'll be close to pick 40 when the draft comes around. That is not enough for losing Scooter.
