I'd give Crossy a four year contract before Melksham. Even now.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Geez. It doesn't matter whether it was amicable or not. The point is: contracts were broken.

I'm not sure you're going to win this one, despite being correct. The older posts were about honouring contracts. We enduced Tom to leave his, despite GWS doing it first with Grphyon. I'm not sure why this has the longevity to be honest. We may have had a more legitimate reason, but we did the same.

Seems to be a sudden multitude of ways for the spelling of Ryan's name!

I'm not really interested in winning, I'm just trying to point out there's really no difference but it seems others see it differently. And I agree with you exactly. It's not the manner in which it happened, it's just that it did happen.

Yes they were. Probably by means of one of the terms agreed to by both parties when the contract was entered into.

A contract broken does not mean a contract dishonoured.

But it's still a contract broken, no? I never said anything about honour or dishonour.

There is a difference, albeit minor. Boyd was on the contract he was obliged to sign as part of being a draftee. He didn't sign to go to GWS, he didn't set the terms, and he had no interest in extending it. It's different from the McCarthy situation where he signed an extension to guarantee himself further employment and then when new started performing wanted a better deal somewhere else. For the most part you're right though.

                        Thank you sir!
I thought it was interesting to see GWS players going openly to the media and pleading to be traded.
It's not a good look for them, and their club environment.

Gut feel it is going to be a big week this week for wheeling and dealing.

I wonder if there will be some surprises before the cut off date.

The two big deals are Carlisle and Treloar and then Carlton looking to turn themselves into "GWS lite" with a multiple player deal plus Collingwood looking at deals other than Treloar.

There a few questions I'm not sure of
                            1) Why are players lining up to go to the Pies?
                            2) Will there still be a made rush on Thursday to get everything done by the 2pm deadline?
                            3) What happens to Talia? Does he get traded?

                              1) NFI. I don't get it other than wanting to play at a 'big club' in a team that looks about 1am on the premiership clock.
                              2) Surely not. They've had two weeks officially and time before.
                              3) If we don't get a good enough offer then no. I can't assume the AFL will satisfactorily conclude their investigation in time.

                                Confirmed.

Carlton trades Tom Bell and pick 41 to Brisbane for picks 21 and 60.
