Why have we left this so incredibly late?

Not even convinced Lobbe for Pick 11 is what we'd want. He's a decent ruck, but he's basically a younger version of Minson in the sense that he isn't great around the ground and can't play up forward.

Wouldn't we better backing in Campbell/Roughy with Minson as 12 month support? If Lobbe was a gun key defender I'd be all over this, but he's not.

Probably not because they have absolutely no back-up (in the true ruckman sense) for Ryder, and he still has a WADA suspension threat hanging over him.

Dixon has been signed for 5 and maybe big bucks.

I guess they traded pick 8 this year for Geelong's 1st round next year, which will probably be about the same.

Carlton also have two GWS players from last year.

I'm a big Menzel fan, that looks a clear Crows win. A forward line of Walker, Betts and Menzel will pose a few problems

St.Kilda are reportedly keen to get Lachie Weller out of Fremantle.
The Saints are set to offer Pick 14, Weller is open to it, Fremantle are not interested.

That would be the 2nd ND in a row that we are out of the first round - we started at pick 26 last year and potentially pick 30 this year. Not against pursuing Lobbe for pick 11 but I wouldn't want to make it a 3rd year in a row next year - you always need to make sure there is quality youth coming through at the pointy end of the draft.

I'm not sure it matters considering the quality we drafted last year. One thing this year proves again that high draft pics does not guarantee anything. GWS just sold a number 3 draft pic for nothing...
