Re: Confirmed Trades, FS, FA, delistings etc for all AFL Clubs 2015

I'm just having a closer look at these deals, there is the potential for some major skulduggery to take advantage of the value index with academy players and father sons.

The AFL needs to start challenging some of these deals, it's out of control with clubs making the most of every loophole.
It goes against the whole trade and FA period.

Carlton preparing a trade for Tomlinson and wanting to use pick 12 from Richmond.

AFL would say new systems is better:

A little surprising we haven't had a nibble.

And the outcome to one team doing well out of an academy pick is a cattle auction and a level of questionable deals being engineered and conjured up. Eventually this will alienate the fans because there will be little loyalty by the players.

I agree with you. It has been ridiculous this trade period with the number of deals done, topped up with trading future picks, trading for points, young players wanting to move for bigger dollars etc.

So Tomlinson could come to Victoria, and around pick 11 or 12 could get the deal done. And where are we right now?

I think I would prefer Tomlinson over a ruckman. Roughead to play second ruck/forward and Minson/Campbell to play first ruck.

We can't be sure but maybe GWS prefer to be a feeder club to GWS Lite. They might jointly host a combined Xmas party
It's not like they will need name tags.

It doesn't sound like J-Mac see's Tomlinson like a a few of us here do.

But Roughy is putrid as a forward.. He is either 1st ruck or defender/ruck.

My preference is the defender ruck option. Campbell could be the first ruckman.

The only time I think he should defend is when following the oppositions resting ruck to their forward line. If there is no resting ruck, then he should be resting forward. Otherwise, what do you do, have Roberts, Tomlinson (for example) and Roughead in the backline and maybe Hamling.

Campbell to ruck 80% of the game. Wood, Morris, Hamling or Biggs to play tall for those 5 to 7 minute bursts.

                              Agree.
The forward line doesn't work with Roughead in it.

I still think his best work is defending the opposition's tallest forward who is 2nd ruck - and Roughie goes with him all day. Which may mean there a weeks where dependant on match ups, either the first choice Ruck, or Roughie - miss out.

The Treloar deal has been completed

The Giants receive pick 7, 62 and 2016 first round pick from Collingwood in exchange for Adam Treloar and pick 28.
