Their salary cap is cactus, and for a number of years to come. So much long term space dedicated to Oliver, Trac and Viney, so it's only natural that the next tier of established senior players might be squeezed out. Fritsch and Lever are both total moneyball selections- not without risk but huge rewards if they can recapture their best, and the trade outlay will not be huge.

I’d be willing to take the risk on Lever. On Fritsch I’d only chase him if we are certain Weightman is a long shot to return.

More of an In Bruges guy?

I think that intercept guy is Lobb and we need someone more defensively minded and a bit stronger in the body to help out in the negative tall defensive role.

          Melbourne should trade Petracca.

Not much gain in them trading Lever, Fritsch etc because they just won't get value. Nobody is wanting Oliver or Viney. Petracca is the one who can fetch them picks to accelerate their rebuild.

He's 29, but would still command a bit.

Melbourne should continue to **** themselves and none of the other clubs should ever step in to relieve them of their malaise. Keep your players, keep your shit results, leave us all alone for ****s sake because we're sick of you.

The amount of shit we copped for not creating a dynasty after a hard earned against the odds premiership, versus their asterisks laden shit show of a flag, after which they showed no grace when telling everyone it's not a real flag until it's won at the MCG is sufficient for me to have no mercy on them.

I want them to rot together, all of them. Not a single soul from their team is welcome to me.

Did you get Harmes' autograph at open training the other day?

He's already in, and he's the hero of a Downs Syndrome sufferer who thinks he's the bees knees (with Harmes genuinely reciprocating) so he gets a one off exemption.

The other interesting player from Melbourne is Jake Lever. He was supposedly very pissed off about being dropped a couple of weeks ago and is now potentially gettable at the end of the season. Still only 29yo and is clearly a high quality defender. I'd be making enquiries, even with his highly punchable head.
I’d be targeting Lever, despite being an interceptor more than a lockdown, he would instantly be our best defender and provide lacking leader, experience and knowledge. What would his trade worth be?

Is he cooked? I went to the Melb v Nth game and was not impressed with him at all. I know he has been very good in the past.

Maybe but still better than what we’ve got now

What about Nick Murray from Adelaide? They seem stacked for key defenders

A few Adelaide guys i know rate him as their best key defender (they also rate Worrell super high).

Think Butts is the fourth in line one who would be vulnerable (Keane third, Borlase described as Tarzan Jane thing).
I should leave it alone but you're not right

Butts looks ok as well. Although I not sure we have a chance of him coming here after Darcy caved his chest in last week

Pretty sure a few additional bundles will make it better.

The best thing about AFL players when it comes to physical violence being committed against them is they have been indoctrinated into thinking physical violence is OK.
