I tend to agree with Callaghan. The upside with Callaghan is he still has a lot of physical development to come.
More of an In Bruges guy?

      Campbell Chesser
      James Peatling
      Finn Callaghan
So we're chasing an inside mid bull (hard)?
Ok, but what about a small forward?

I'm a little surprised we're only linked to mids at this stage, including NOD.

A small forward of quality should be a huge priority for us. The game is changing and a smaller forward set-up will become a higher priority for clubs.

It's early days in terms of players we might be linked to.

In regards to Callaghan, we currently don't have the trade currency to make that and given he's been a regular player for GWS and is contracted they're not letting him go without getting an 'overs' offer.

I'm sure Geelong and Smith will help us out there...

Callaghan has bulldog connections . I worked with his father and his wife is related to Bevo . They catch up for Xmas lunch etc .
I?m not sure the exact relation but Bevo might be Finn?s uncle.

His Mum is Bevo's wife's cousin.

Running runs in the family. Callaghan’s father, Brett, played a bit of football. But he was an ace athlete, good enough to win the national 400m championship and compete at the 1994 Commonwealth Games.

Callaghan senior had countless kick-to-kick sessions with his son in the backyard of the family’s Parkdale home.

More recently they’ve done a lot of running.

“The sprint training with dad in the off-season has helped me a fair bit, I think,’’ he said.

So too have a few quiet words of encouragement from Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge, whose wife, Dana, is a cousin of Callaghan’s mother, Lara.

Finn was a St Kilda supporter. He switched to the Bulldogs when Beveridge landed the coaching position in 2015.

“I really wanted him to do well,’’ he said. “Within 24 hours of him getting the job I started going for the Doggies.’’

192cm wing/midfielder. 23 games this year, averaging 23 disposals. Went pick 3 in 2021 between 2 handy types in Sam Darcy and Nick Daicos. GWS would want a king's ransom with 1 year still left on his contract.

No way, that would be an unbelievable result for him. In a forward line with:
                          - Cox, Miocheck, DeGoey , Elliott, Hill, Hoskin Elliott.

Pies are always on the agenda for Jake, that's his problem.

Hoskin Elliot can pay anywhere, and teams run a 7 player forward rotation these days anyway (including bench spot).
