Feels like it's pretty much the exact strategy that got the demons a flag. I'd do it if I was Hawthorn.

Agree with this. I think they're a nice pairing - Barrass the deep, stay-at-home defender playing the Liam Jones role and Battle taking the second tall, able to zone off and be used on rebound. It means Sicily can play as a genuine interceptor and Frost becomes depth.

What about English ruck, Lobb back and Sam Lalor/Bo Allan/Joe Berry on the list?

Barrass is a jet, but I'm very uncomfortable giving up that much draft collateral and that big of a contract for a 29-year-old with some question marks on his body, especially when we're starting to see it be the making of Lobb.

Agree 29 sketchy body never played a full season.
3 years max or a pro rata deal with lower bucks.
Honestly I look at that Hawks list and their tall department is seriously lacking, they'd be way more desperate.

All they have is Frost!

I expect them to come back to earth soon.

Honestly the only player we should be targeting year in and year out is Hayden Young.

Will cost an absolute bomb in cash and draft capital but my days he will be worth it.

As elite a ball winner as he is, there's a bit of the Taranto vibes about Tom Green. Not an amazing ball user and doesn't regularly hit the scoreboard as much as other elite mids (although he did late on the weekend to disprove my point!)

For the price to get him, there are better midfield options IMO - agree with earlier posts that Hayden Young is absolutely top of that list.

BTW Ed Richards is a RFA next year, need to get him signed up early.

Hard to see him moving for footy reasons given the strength of the Brisbane list and the opportunities that provides but perhaps we are an outside chance. Shows we've got a but of money to splash about.

He's a westie. Went to school with my nephew in Taylors Hill or Sydenham somewhere around there. Definitely a jets product.
