I'm not sure I can make it any clearer but yes he could be an internal candidate we might consider. Clearly passed the internal review and was given a promotion.

I don't mind the fact we are waiting until later in the season. It still feels like Bevo wants to keep coaching and if that's the case I find it hard to see us not extending him ,especially with the board having big Bevo fans on it. He is certainly doing his job well and we do have great assistance around him. Don't mind Pratt, Lade or Egan as in house appointments if we go there for whatever reason. Pratt wants to be an AFL coach.

I did not know if you meant Lade as coach and Egan as Footy manager.

Next time I won’t bother asking for clarity and just move on.

I think everyone gets carried away with 1 or 2 weeks form in terms of coaching narrative.

Early rounds Hinkley had to go immediately, then wins a couple and the succession plan is fine.

With Bevo - I'd say he is coaching better than the previous two seasons - but really, we thumped St.Kilda and beat GWS on their turf last year also. Would we be happy with another season like last year? - probably not. I'm happy we are taking a bit to play it all out, and I'm happy Beveridge has said he will either be coaching the dogs or nowhere next year.

            True.

If we were to offer anything, it’d be two years. But I think he’ll walk anyway.

            Not bothered either way currently.

My worry is who we would end up with

What is it that impresses you (and Azabob) with Pratt?

I think we should sign him up. Its not just the wins, but also the way we are playing. It is a game style that holds up. He's had to make some hard decisions on players that were unpopular, (Macrae and Daniel) but these are proving to be the right decisions. He's had to help some of the older guys transition out of the team, and he has been prepared to do this, playing veritable kids in key roles and trusting them to perform. He's had to juggle an injury list that saw 20% of walk up starters last year unavailable, including The Bont, and Darcy. He's had to find a way to kick a winning score with 2 to 3 of his starting forward line (JUH, Flea and Darcy) unavailable.

In my mind he is coaching as well as I have ever seen him coach. He has the players behind him. He has the backroom support. I would extend another 2 with a trigger for a 3rd.

Would Pratt be there if it was up to Bevo?

There's a fine man missing from this equation.

                          Maybe twenty cents worth.

It's interesting, those sooking are those who haven't yet had a lick of the Bevo ice cream.

What'd be nice is an objective look at how much media he has done this year versus others, and I'd be surprised if it was much more. The big difference is the flavour and narrative around him making it seem like it's been a media offensive.
                                TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.
