Re: 2023 List Management Thread
I'm keeping Bedendo BT. Shocking run with injury this year. Would give him 1 more to see if he can put it together
I think we will keep one of Duryea or Crozier even if both are struggling. We dont have any other small lock down defenders who can compete in the air. Unless we turn to Richards.
I hope Sweet & Khamis stay but who could blame them if they choose to seek more opportunity elsewhere.
The rest well we need to refresh the list and better balance it.Listening to Brahm's 3rd RacketComment

I agree with most of that but why do you hope Khamis stays?
I don't get it with him - to be fair, I never really have - and last week just confirmed everything I think about him at AFL level...What should I tell her? She's going to ask.Comment

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
I think there’s wiggle room at keep one in the list, maybe two at a push if we rebalance the list. Bedendo is the easiest to defend as he’s unknown. We know what the rest will give and it’s SFA in 2024.I'm keeping Bedendo BT. Shocking run with injury this year. Would give him 1 more to see if he can put it together

I am with you on Khamis.
Really wasn't up to it and the audition opportunity for rumoured interest from Essendon was a big fail.Life is to be Enjoyed not EnduredComment

Not to mention we're about to pick up Jordan Croft who is essentially developing in a similar position from next season.

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
So can we please do my rebuild now. Our first will be a Top 10 AHEAD of Croft. So we get a Top 10 pick and Croft and use the Brisbane First as a trade on a player of need. Three good players coming into the squad is a good thing. Four if we could land a free agent if value, but we are not a destination club for them us history is a judge.
I don’t think we are in the window like the club thinks. But should hopefully be able to slingshot in a couple of years if we nail the first rounder (mid hopefully), Croft, Buss & Darcy come in quicker and hopefully Arty & Clarke make the grade.

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
I'm not sure how we can continue to sustain all of Libba, Treloar and Macrae getting thirty touches yet our midfield being torched for run and effectiveness.
I'd pull the trigger on Treloar now to see if we can help find him a way up north, tap Libba on the shoulder and commit to next year being his last, and keep Jack.
They're all good players in their own right but there's just something amiss when they can get so much of the ball yet be exposed to losing ascendency in the midfield.
This enables us to get Baz into the centre bounces and bring in some players who aren't only see ball-get ball by nature, to transition into the midfield over the next couple of years.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
Reflecting after the game it's the only reason why I think I could justify getting a new coach. It will give some license to shake things up a little bit.
Though to me that's not a great reason in itself. What I'd rather do is see the head of the football department and the CEO force the hand of the coach and the list/ recruiting manager - and get them to do it and actually find a way to change things.
But I don't think either Grant or Baines have the balls to get Beveridge and Power to get their shit together/ force them to perform, and that's the problem.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
Are we being a bit harsh on the recruiting and list management team especially when they don't really make the final decision on who gets retained and who gets selected?
Everyone here knows I've been advocating for more list changes most seasons but I don't think Power and the team have a huge say in it. I would imagine this flows into the length of contracts being offered as well.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
They get to recommend who comes to the club, and I'm not really being harsh on them here. All I'm saying is they need to be put under pressure to find a way to get some different talent into the mix, while the football department or coaching group needs to be pressured into moving on Treloar now, finding a mix for when Libba goes. Are we being a bit harsh on the recruiting and list management team especially when they don't really make the final decision on who gets retained and who gets selected?

The length of contracts for peripheral players or playing peripheral players isn't my focus here. I'm specifically calling out the need to change our midfield set up over the next two years. What's happened in the past doesn't worry me at all, I'm being specific about what needs to be done immediately.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment
