Re: 2023 List Management Thread
Geelong seemed to have kept stars no problem.
The article could apply to most clubs at the top .. Melbourne with Petracca , Gawn , Oliver , Grundy , Viney .I?m not sure what they are paying Brown either .
Seems a let?s pick on bulldogs and ignore the rest of the teams .Bring back the biffComment

My impression was that this might be the beginning of Murdoch's deep dive into AI journalism. You're spot on Ledge, an almost generic article that could apply to anyone.Comment

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
With results today, and GCS dropping a spot somewhat unexpectedly the last couple of weeks, looks like GCS selling the rights to Duursma with them selling now natural Pick 4. Likely pick 6 after compo/bid.
Well worth our two first rounders to get Duursma.
Twomey has him at six and says:
Duursma had his standout game for Vic Country in the final outing of the championships, gathering 22 disposals, 10 marks and booting 4.2 against Vic Metro in a best-afield showing. It came after he had spent the majority of the previous three games in a midfield role and was a strong reminder of his polish. There's a unique blend to Duursma's game that makes him one of the most talented in the draft crop. He can fly in front of packs and take marks, he kicks goals (last year he booted 31 goals for Gippsland and this year he's kicked 13 from 10 games), he is a taller midfielder and has penetration to his game. He's also got the layer of class that separates him from others.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

He's got a bit of strut as well. He highlighted skills that would fit in nicely with our forward line.Lohmann highlights from the ressies this weekend.

Today's loss makes list management decisions so much more important now and I wonder if it means we do have to blow up the list rather than trying to top up.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment

Re: 2023 List Management Thread
I’ve been a near lone wolf. It’s time to do a short, sharp rebuild.
Starting with getting the GCS Pick 4, Croft & Lohmann as we get younger top 20 talent.
Plus looking at hard calls including but not limited to Smith if he could get a top 10 pick, Macrae is he could get a second rounder (potentially on traded for Lohmann), Williams if compo was somehow second round and cutting everyone without a contract for next year.
Id question if English & a not straight kicking Naughton are worth $1.1M and thus if anything were to happen if they demand that money now we look at our options. We need another mature KPD and id move Naughton back with Jones with JOD/Buss and look at Darcy & Croft as forwards.
West to the midfield group with Garcia and focus the forward line around talks, Cody and natural small forwards in Lohmann & Clarke and hope Arty puts on some size and learns to stick tackles. Along with hi ding a replacement for Sweet.
We need some new talent urgently. The tough calls aren’t just Bevo or Grant. Time to get into the list and make some tough calls. If we do it right, we should rebound back pretty quick. If we do not much, we deserve everything we are going to get. And it won’t be pretty.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment
