      Re: 2024 Draft Watch

What happens with our draft picks this year is hard to predict. A real spread of players would probably help us.
Another mid or two given our age demographic and the depth that we lost seems like a genuine requirement.
A small or medium sized goal kicking forward is a position we have struggled to fill is another area we need to focus on.
A smaller defender especially given the age profile of JJ and Duryea is another potential gap.
Then a taller defender, a ruck man or a genuine winger could be good investments as well.

We might have the scope to bring in a couple of experienced DFA as well.

I'd be interested to hear if there is an area or two we should focus on?

His back end of the year (post champs) was at a level I don't think ANYONE expected. The colts GF was a terrible game but Davis - his senior team got knocked out the week before - dropped back and played and won the BOG Medal.

He's a player that's for sure. Of the WA boys I think he's second only to Allen.
What's Bo Allen's footy IQ like?
Is he more an athlete first, AFL later second? Seems a big body with burst speed but it's impossible to judge from a video of a few minutes of highlights.

He's athletic traits are brilliant and from what I've seen in highlights etc he doesn't seem to lack anything with his footy IQ.

Not sure why, however he reminds me of Callan Ward.

                I noticed that as well

West Coast has pick 12 and are probably hoping that Bo Allan is still there. Using 12 on Davis might be a fraction high but fortune does favour the brave when drafting.

Freo with pick 14 could be a chance but they do seem to have an abundance of players like Davis.
Not that it matters much but I haven't seen him mentioned in many phantom drafts in a top 20 or even 30 scenario.

This one with Davis on AFL.com is worth a watch

Not sure how much he's been discussed on this thread already, but he was highlighted by CODE Sports for us. Where do WOOFers think Taj Hotton will fall to? He seems to be exactly what we are looking for as mid-forward.

Even with the ACL, surely if he drops to one of our picks, we'd have to be interested.

What players in the past have done an ACL in their draft year?

The "eth-dog" phantom on BF has Davis going to GWS at pick 20, immediately before our first.

For what it's worth he has our picks as Joe Berry (21), Cooper Hynes (29), Oliver Hannaford (36), Xavier Ivisic (44).

Bo Allan is just a really good player. Can impact off limited touches. Was getting inside mid time with Peel (league side) who have a Dockers alignment...to give you an idea of what this means, Will Brodie was battling to get inside mid time in that side and in fact played almost exclusively on the wing in the grand final.

                          Allan is good.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

I’m hearing from WCE fans that Travaglia is their man and Bo Allan a huge Freo fan who they’re likely to avoid.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?
