If it's GWS' second rounder it would be early 20s, first pick at the conclusion of the first round?
Second round starts at least 4 places later this year goven there are 4 concession picks handed out (including Goddard FA as a likely first rounder).

Anyone care to predict where would Anderson go if this years draft?

      Seems quite a lot, picks 5 & 6 for MD1, Anderson & pick 24.

Emma Quayle is now under the impression the proposed WB - GWS - Richmond trade won't happen.

That deal is apparently dead because Tyson (the GWS player) has signed a contract extension, so the player Richmond wanted is unavailable.

For what it's worth, the two most respected BigFooty amateur draft analysts (Knightmare and Chris25) both rate Anderson as about 15 to 25 range in this year's draft if GWS don't exercise their zone entitlement to pick or trade Anderson.

5&6 for Martin, Anderson and a 2nd rounder? Thats basically Anderson and a 2nd rounder for pick 6?

Geez, GWS has pick 20 - the first of the compo picks, I would at least want that.

If we did that deal you would hope it was for pick 20.

I still think that it is mainly speculation in the industry - perhaps observers know we are very, very keen on Martin and pretty keen on Anderson and are trying to work out how it could happen.

If it looks like we keep the inside running on MD1, perhaps a more sensible approach from us would be to offer #5 and our second round pick (if it is not used on Hunter) for MD1 and Anderson.

No it's not. Martin isn't only pick 5. Projected top 2 pick.

Re: Dogs Keen on Jack Martin in Mini Draft

IMO we can do better than a lot of the proposed deals here*, especially if other clubs are interested in Hogan or Kelly.

                  * Assuming that the earlier GC and Demons are not bid for the MD. If they are, we lose anyway.

And one of them believes Laine Wilkins is a first round prospect....spare me.

Well if you won't answer questions about where you rate these players, what do you expect? I rate your opinion much more highly than the other sources available to us, so tell us what you think we should do in the draft and with the Mini Draft, and how you rate Anderson.

This is what I asked you yesterday MJP:

"Would very much like your view on Hogan vs Kelly MJP.

Also, any views on what the perfect outcome for us would be - what can we do with #5 and #6?

As you can see - few if any of us can sensibly and objectively rank the players against each other. "

What is the point of comparing a high-half forward who might become a mid (Kelly) with a CHF (Hogan)? I have seen Hogan play probably 30 games whereas I have seen Kelly play live precisely twice...and 4 games including tape. If I could answer the question in a meaningful way, I would answer it. I love Hogan - I think he is every chance of being the next Wayne Carey - but for some reason not everyone seems to share my enthusiasm and it isn't as if I haven't been wrong before.

What happens with pick 5 and 6? Honestly, I have no idea - and it depends so much on what the other clubs will do. Mark down GWS for Whitfield and Melbourne for Viney at 3. I really don't know what Gold Coast or Melbourne are thinking with the other two picks though - both clubs have needs everywhere and really should just take best available...I suspect Melbourne will go with O'Rourke or Plowman - they both seem hyper competitive to me and that seems to be what they need most of all. Gold Coast? Man - I just dont know. I couldn't see them taking Grundy unless they think he is going to go all Nic Natanui in the next couple of years...then again, that comment could apply to Melbourne as well.

In either case, perfect outcome for me would be we use Pick 5 as part of the MD and get Jack - and Toumpass is still there at pick 6 and we take him. Personally I would prefer to take Dayle Garlett over Toumpass but I don't think we would so will leave it at that.

And...to be fair, I have been at work since 6am this morning (Perth time) and just got home (5:45pm Perth time)...I am sure I would have answered it eventually.

Hogan is an interesting one. From what I've seen, on the surface he doesn't look overly quick or agile or even coordinated. But he knows where to run and just keeps moving. You'd need to have a pretty big tank and high concentration levels to go with Hogan.
