Re: What are you watching at the moment

Finally got around to watching House of Dragons and I would say I wasn't that impressed and couldn't connect with any of the characters. GoT had those couple of players you just couldn't wait to see what happens next not so with this one. But in saying that the last two episodes picked up and I would watch season two if it comes out.

Worst part is they purposely planned to capture a whole generation with this shit.

South Park do a great send up with Coon and Friends.

Watched the first couple of episodes of Poker Face. Going for a Colombo sort of vibe, it certainly shows some promise. Look forward to watching the next couple of episodes. Enjoyed some cameos including John Ratzenberger from Cheers in ep 2.

Great to see Ke Huy Quan (Data from Goonies / Short round from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom) acting again.
I enjoyed it. Went full loco halfway through. That was Short Round lol I was trying to work out how I knew that actor all the ay through the movie.

I did a double header last night. The Outpost followed by the Forgotten War. The Outpost is set in Afghanistan and is full on action and the Forgotten War is a WWII drama set in Holland / Northern Belgium during the Allied Invasion. Both very solid movies.

Ep 2 of the Last of Us was good. Well worth persisting with for now.

Some solid video game logic in the closing scenes too.

Loving it - but yuuuuge fan of the games.

I can't figure out which of Short Round or Data is most inappropriate by today's standards!

Yeah I was just giving you shit pal!

People love watching relatively evenly matched super heroes beating up each other and destroying property for a bit, and then joining forces again. They'll even tell you there's a good reason for all of it.

The most recent cinema experience I had was Dune, and I loved every minute of it - even if at Northland they literally took the immersive concept so far as to sweat us out. The time prior to that was Parasite, which was well worth the trip to the cinema as well. The Marvel/ superhero stuff will die soon enough, just like the macro trends of Westerns and musicals did.

I know I’m trying out a new bit where I’m completely humourless.

I started watching Severance on Apple TV. I’m only two eps in but it honestly seems kinda like a good deal.

I imagine episode 3 of the Last of Us will have triggered plenty of snowflakes.

Also some more video game logic at play - a wall of guns in a zombie apocalypse? Yeah nah let's leave them there.
