I think they could have done the episode a little differently but I still enjoyed it. I'm not here to watch non stop zombie action. If that's what people are expecting they are watching the wrong show.
I'm not here for non stop zombie action either, and I don't mind character building. But I am after a core storyline, and like the Frank and Bill episode it became a distraction rather than a feature.

I agree that it has the makings of an excellent show, but if it continues to deviate away for whole episodes at a time ain't nobody got time for that.

      GREAT episode.

After annoying me for 7 episodes I am starting to come around to Ellie's sass.

That's the Ellie becomes an adult episode. It's also the best part of the game, and wow they did it justice. Almost verbatim.

The episode from last week I mentioned wasn't in the game, well I was half right.
It wasn't in the main story, however there was an extra side story to play which was that episode.

        Just played it.

Did you know it was a game?

Was a great episode. Gee Bella Ramsey (ellie) is a great actor.

Re: What are you watching at the moment

It won't be the cup of tea for many on here, but the free to air trash my house has been enjoying this season is Survivor Australia. It is the most 'real' of the reality shows and has had some of the best strategy and gameplay I've ever seen in a season of Survivor. I had been really frustrated by the editing and producer interference (I know, I know, it's reality tv) in the previous season so it's been great to enjoy it again.

We've also been enjoying Taskmaster Australia. The British version is one of my favourite shows, and they have nailed the vibe in the Aussie show so far. Julia Morris usually drives me nuts but she has been excellent, and Danielle Walker was not someone I had ever heard of but she's stolen a few episodes with brilliant moments.

The only bad thing about both shows is having to sit through the f***ING I'm a celebrity ads.

+1 for Survivor. I’m not opposed to reality TV in general but this season has really been cooking. The edit that Simon’s getting in particular is enough to ruin someone’s whole life.

Survivor rocks. But I watch up on 10 play the night after. I'll have to tread lightly on this thread now.

I've only seen people talk about the show on youtube but I don't suppose anyone watched MILF Manor? (Typed out MILF Island at first the made up show from 30 Rock)

I hate commercial TV but have been all in on AU Survivor it's whole run and after dabbling in the British version have loved this season of Taskmaster.

Survivor is having an amazing season, it's always great when all the big players do cool stuff but no one of consequence goes home, which is exactly what has happened this season. It's a pretty loaded final group and only really Matt has yet to prove his credentials as a player (Gerry too I guess but different boat). That episode where George snookered Simon may have been the best TV commercial Australia has produced.

Taskmaster has been great. It helps that the cast is so likeable (I too have similar issues with Julia but she has been good), Luke and Danielle are two comedians I went and saw in their first MICF's (Luke was literally in a 10 person room under the stairs), and I'm a big fan of Cashman, and like Nina's online work. I've found the UK version enjoyable but this AU version is genuinely and consistently proper fun and funny.

Other than that, am still slowly working my way through the 4th season of Line of Duty (we don't tend to binge watch stuff so despite it being one of our favourite shows we probably only do a season every 8 months or so). Outstanding show. South Park also getting a run as we haven't seen a lot of it.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

I was just told a movie called The Mule has come out on Foxtel, it was filmed all over the western suburbs and was made in 2014.
It’s based on a true story in the 80s and stars Hugo Weaving and Noni Hazlehurst.
Being someone who grew up in braybrook I have contacted a few old friends and we cannot figure out who the real life figure it was based on.
Anyone have any ties to the story or know who it might be ?

A bit on Wikipedia but nothing on real life people:

I'm watching TLoU too - and also watching the Korean one All of Us are Dead. I have to say I vastly prefer the latter! Maybe I've watched too many US zombie films but I'm finding the human-on-human brutality, and the cliched focus on midwestern libertarianism really draining, especially the "the state is bad" theme. TBH while episode 3 was a high point, and while Bella Ramsey is an exceptional actress, I'm just bored most of the time in TLoU. It's too predictable.

The Koreans, on the other hand, have injected a bit of fresh blood into the genre, with ever so slightly more complex (and post-COVID) takes on the state's response to a zombie outbreak. It has a few moves that I can't stand (ep 11 was a bit galling) and it makes a few sacrifices in verisimilitude for plot (which is very K-drama), but overall entertaining and engaging, and fresh.

The last episode of TLoU was intense. Some of it may be somewhat predictable, but it's really well done.

Have been also been watching Survivor. Originally started because it was the best of a bad bunch (vs MAFS, etc), but do enjoy it now. Don't know how Shaun Hampson managed to land Megan Gale because he royally soiled his bed on Sunday with the idol fiasco.

I don't mind Taskmaster Australia but from what I have seen of the UK version it is superior.

The Australian version of Would I Lie to You however is a pale imitation of the UK show. There is no matching David Mitchell, Lee Mack and Rob Bryden.

I've avoided Aussie WILTY for exactly this reason, the chemistry of the UK show is top notch and you can't just plug and play that kind of thing
